I’m like this, but glowing with a slightly blue hue..

Did you also swallow a glowstick when you were 7? Double up: Did your nipples also fall off 2 years later? Maybe that just happened 'cause I ate a green one.

Aw, I wish Jane was still doing Pigeon Gazette. I don't think she ever posted a message about taking a break or quitting, just kind of disappeared.

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 58 points 4 days ago (2 children)

hope she has a thick layer of sunblock, that looks like danger otherwise

[–] CentipedeFarrier@piefed.social 25 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (2 children)

It looks heavily edited, based on her top being nearly as pale as she is when it almost certainly shouldn't be, and the fact that I’m very likely the same color.

The good news is if you are that pale, laying in the sun -being an activity you don't do often- is actually pretty uncomfortable. And doing nothing else while laying in the discomfort doesnt last long because how boring (unless you fall asleep I suppose). If you are the sort who can just do sunbathing, you probably aren't the sort to be casper white.

[–] FishFace@piefed.social 13 points 4 days ago (1 children)

It's pretty plausible it's just exposed for the other lass and background

[–] ulterno@programming.dev 1 points 2 days ago

Yeah. No need for editing in post.
Just have a camera with lower static range and choose the required white-balance.

Not for long at least

[–] BurgerBaron@quokk.au 4 points 4 days ago

Never go full lobster.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

It looks to me like she's actually covered in sand? The bottoms of her feet aren't as white.

[–] FishFace@piefed.social 4 points 4 days ago

Yes, daylight tends to come from above!

God this meme is old. If I knew for sure, I'd say this meme is old enough to drink.

Tanning is the process used to make leather. Stay out of the sun, folks! This message comes to you from the skin cancer capital of the world.

[–] ulterno@programming.dev 6 points 2 days ago

FREE LEATHER ARMOUR!!!

[–] thethunderwolf@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

theyre different processes

sun tanning: skin cells' melanin production increased in response to uv exposure, darkening the skin

leather tanning: plant tannins or chromium salts toughen the skin into leather by restructuring the proteins

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Nevertheless, SKIN CANCER!

On location if you don't see her you'll hear her. She makes the sound of a sizzling steak.

Can’t get burnt if you’re completely reflective.

If she were German specimen, I'd say that this is her normal beach pigmentation hours before getting their characteristic boiled crab skin tone. But I don't know much about Irish specimens sunbathing rituals.

[–] TomMasz@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago (3 children)

I always thought Irish people burst into flame in the sun.

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 8 points 4 days ago

My husband got burned through a T-shirt

[–] khannie@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

The melting point of a Paddy is 25C.

Some of us tan, but most either burn or freckle.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 4 points 4 days ago

Depends on their other genetics. My wife has red hair and blue eyes, but due to a sizeable dose of NA genetics she tans.

we're on air

[–] cannedtuna@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

I fear for you. Wear sunscreen.

[–] Skyrmir@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Saw a gal like that walking down the street in South Florida, I almost pulled over to hand her an umbrella. Figured in about 12 more seconds she was going to turn cherry red, then die of sun burn.

[–] DonutsRMeh@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

Wtf, why did I think it was a dog at first? Holy shit.

"You're gonna burn, alright."

[–] Anchorxiety@reddthat.com 3 points 4 days ago

Lots of Irish girls use sunbeds, so if you didn't know she was Irish, you might think she was Brazilian lol

[–] DarkCloud@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Could be someone using thanaka rather than sunscreen.
