As somebody who pays more attention to these things than most, I still wasn't sure which loser who debates college students he was. I thought he was the "change my mind" guy but that's David Chowder or whatever. Stephen? Who cares. He sucks too.

Every time we do something like this, I try to imagine how unhinged the response would be if the roles were reversed.
Had Iran blew up an American wedding on US soil. Just imagine for a moment what the fallout of an event like that would be.
Or even worse, a fucking elementary school full of children.
Nukes would be on the table.
He's so lucky that he can just brush off murders while remaining a "good Christian". Most rational people would be crushed under the weight of the cognitive dissonance.
The abrahamic faiths are death cults. Vance and others believe that slaughtering their enemies (and any collateral damage done) is god's will.

I remember having many discussions with some strident xtians about how that's not really a thing, or that xtianity doesn't really count.
It still makes me laugh.
I was raised south baptist. We sang "father Abraham... had many sons... Many sons had father Abraham..."
More recently I read some of Genesis for myself. Father Abraham's wife could not conceive, so he raped her slave instead. The slave ran away. God sent an angel to tell the slave to return to Abraham and have his rape baby, which she did.
It's not the only time rape is condoned in the bible. Horrible book.
The really, really wild thing is when xtians have the audacity to tell someone that, without (their) god, there is no way to have morality.
YES! Thank you for calling that out. It is so frustrating. Submitting completely to arbitrary authority is not moral. It's one way we get people proudly advocating for homophobia, rape, genocide, and more.
Human morality is something we evolved to help us survive. It changes with us, as our circumstances change. IMO, using baseless claims about supernatural punishments and rewards to manipulate people into harming themselves and others is insanely immoral. That ain't love.

I'm just looking at Germany as an example. I know it's wishful thinking.
Some of us looked at Nazi Germany and said "that's something that should never happen again". Some looked at it and said "okay but how can we get away with it next time?".
The Nazi leaders were mostly given cushy jobs in NATO or NASA, their crimes forgiven, and they died of old age.
Meh, they killed a couple and many heads of departments were either flown to the US, given comfy retirements in Argentina or just straight up became NATO bosses, lol. Nah, the world is under the control of villains, and as long as those who could make a difference are amoral and self-centered to the point of sociopathy, nothing is gonna change. There's no macro fix for this, only individual changes of mentality, IMO. But let's be hopeful, who knows what tomorrow holds. 🫶
