I have felt so repulsed by Jubilee that I have mostly avoided it.

It seems so trashy. It's like Jerry Springer or Judge Judy.

They seem to pick the dumbest people, with the worst opinions, to either test their opinions on a professional epistemologist, or be targets of a mob.

[–] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They also give right wing ideology a platform to preach to a huge audience who would otherwise never see it or actively tries to avoid it.

[–] Zozano@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago

Yep.

And the worst part is that spreading fascism doesn't depend on winning the argument.

Fascism spreads through hate, which Jubilee manufactures as a business strategy.

[–] Jax@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago

Why the fuck do people watch Jubilee again? Are people really that entertained by circlejerks?

Oh, right, reality television. Fuck Americans are so god damned stupid.

All I want is a girl that respects the fact that i dont respect her or every girl in existance...

  • every conservative probably
[–] im_fine_sandy@nord.pub 55 points 2 days ago (16 children)

There's some very bizarre phrasing here.

"It's hard to find a girlfriend while being x" implies some kind of entitlement, as though women should be shared out equally by some women dispensing system.

He's really just saying "women do not find x appealing".

Welcome to incel mentality. Fucking rapist pieces of shit, all of them.

[–] Funkt4st1c@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

"Women like having rights and i want them to make me sandwiches."

Conservatives and incels loooovvvveee to feel entitled to things personaly, which is kind of crazy because you'd think theyd support socialism in that case. Socialism distributes resources evenly, so in the dystopian end game where women are still treated as objects, every man would get 1 woman. Meanwhile the capitalist equivalent requires you to provide something of value for trade, which many of these men simply do not have

The older I get, the more clear it has become that the defining distinction between conservatives and progressives is the field of people you care about/consider worthy of concern. The broader you are concerned for the rights, well-being, and advancement of other people, the more progressive you are. The more narrow your concerns for yourself and your immediate connections, family, and friends, the more conservative you are.

It is why conservatives discover concern for LGBT rights after decades of rejecting them once their kid comes out. It is why "I have a black friend" is such a common refrain among the conservative crowd to avoid accusations of racism (because they probably genuinely do have concerns for their friend's individual wellbeing, even if they don't give a shit for black people at large). There is an awesome black dude that has reformed many KKK members just by becoming their friend so they actually care about a black person now. It is also why they think that Capitalism is the ideal form of economy, as the very principle and justification of it relies on the notion that all humans are inherently selfish and will accidently improve others lives just trying to generate profit for themselves. They do not feel true altruism for other people, at least not those who aren't directly tied to themselves or that they do not see as being like themselves. Everything that they consider normal and typical from their own limited experience should be the default, should be protected, and anything that interferes with that, threatens that, or challenges their perception of that should be vehemently rejected. They literally cannot put themselves in someone else's shoes, and suggesting they try is an attack on them.

I'm not sure that's true.

It's hard to find a girlfriend while being a hermit.

It's hard to find a girlfriend while being lost at sea.

It's hard to find a girlfriend because of my curse of invisibility.

It's hard to find a girlfriend as a patient with locked in syndrome.

[–] Eldritch@piefed.world 4 points 1 day ago

Those are all people with real disabilities when it comes to finding others including women. Conservatives can't find them sitting in the room with them.

"Is my ancient racist political philosophy the problem here? No, clearly it is half the human population that is the problem here."

[–] VitoRobles@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago

"I'm just like you. I buy milk from the store. I eat chicken rotisserie. Hell, I don't even mind a green matcha. I also think Islam, women, immigrants, Mexicans, blacks, lgbt, trans, non-christians, Californians cause issues that I'm not at liberty to share right now until I see your vagina."

[–] rustydrd@sh.itjust.works 31 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Who could've anticipated that hating <group of people> would cause <group of people> to not find you romantically appealing?

[–] osanna@lemmy.vg 99 points 2 days ago (18 children)

it's almost as if holding views that women are lesser than men........ would result in it being hard to find a girlfriend. Whoa!

I will upvote this gif every time I see it. It's the best.

[–] rustydrd@sh.itjust.works 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Lol, is that Mamdani on the right? If so, that's hilarious.

[–] Washedupcynic@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

May he never experience the warmth or depth of a vagina, as he lacks both.

[–] OnyxRex@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

He's married with a child.

That specific talking point is because he's one of those obfuscated friends of nazis.

[–] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

His child? Because it's hard to believe.

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They never do though. I've seen one try to fake it for over a year before they admit it. Fucking pathetic and women are swearing off men because of them.

[–] VitoRobles@lemmy.today 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

"I don't do politics" chuds think they're slick.

All people hear is "I benefit from the unfair way that things are and I refuse to acknowledge that privilege"

[–] OnyxRex@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I wish they would have had more articulate people in that group. Tim Pool's arguments in general fall apart under logic. The civil war stance especially.

Everyone was so caught up in pointing out the authoritarian stuff going on under trump that none of them actually addressed his claim. He's going to go back to his platform to keep doing the same thing he's always done, but they gave him sound bites to feed his base.

Any civil war requires resources and logistics on two sides that can equally appose each other. I would have liked to see someone push back on how that happens in an authoritarian surveillance state. I'd even grant him 'unrest,' but civil wars are is pretty much impossible. It's just a matter of logistics. No group can realistically organize to military readiness to challenge current regime. They're purging the military, setting up a surveillance state, and have been recruiting by way of ICE at least. This says nothing of the military hardware and training that is held at the federal level.

I get it, he would have just cut in and used half truths but it's hard to bullshit the obvious. Unless you're screaming.

I couldn't watch this all the way through. Maybe it's a moderate thing that they couldn't be more articulate. or maybe the 20 were just awful picks for this.

[–] spiffmeister@aussie.zone 5 points 1 day ago

There was an interview with one of the participants on The Majority Report, they basically said "any time we confronted him with stuff he just accepts the point."

He's a moron but I guess he's well practiced at being slippery?

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (4 children)

No, clearly he's a "moderate". I was going to include the screenshot, but initially this video was titled 1 moderate vs 20 liberals or something stupid. Now it says Tim pool. He got fucking owned by the way.

You know what they say. If you cant find a girlfriend, become the girlfriend.

that's called natural selection

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 21 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (8 children)

Lol. He thinks it's because he's conservative. I mean, it's a factor, but no, Tim, you're just a dumbfuck and generally repellant person.

he coulda got laid 25 years ago when that woulda been the attire of the dude at your local hardcore/emo show.

nowadays if you're wearing a skully on a podcast you come off as a bald, conservative loser.

don't take this as a criticism of bald men. but he has enough money that he should have been able to mitigate his condition in some way above and beyond the average joe. we live in a time when perfection is expected of public figures.

if he's bald he should at least own it to rebel against these dumb social norms. even as a conservative he'd come off as inspirational but instead he's coming off as an insecure fuckwit. stephen miller is a dickhead but he has some confidence at least. maybe that's why he gets laid, even if it's by a self-hating indian.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago

Someone needs to send him one of these. Better yet, several hundred someones.

(Disclosure: I bought one for myself, and I wear it with pride, or at least a grin.)

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago

So Stephen Miller went on TV with hair that he spray painted on. The reception was merciless. People mocked him for years. That's the only reason he's trying to be a proud bald man now. Inside he's crippled with insecurity, like the rest of them.

These same guys, if a friend said, "I'm too fat for any girl to be interested in me," they'd tell him to change his body by working out. If the friend was too shy they might coach him on ways to make conversation. But change themselves?
