Yknow, I wish I believed humans were competent enough to keep these sorts of things secret.
We can't even do the easy shit consistently, what makes you think that even if this was true, the secret could be maintained?
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, toxicity and dog-whistling are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !uspolitics@lemmy.world
7) No Hit-and-Run questions.
Please don't delete your post for no apparent reason. If you plan on deleting a question later, say so in the post, or if you feel that you have a good reason to remove it, message a mod beforehand. It's not fair to the ones who took their time to answer, and it's not in the spirit of the community.
8) No Bots.
Posts or comments from bots, LLM's, AIs, Neural Networks, Transformers, or Marvin the Paranoid Android are not welcome in AskLemmy. Real humans only please.
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

Reminds me of this post from a while back:
QANON CULTIST IN 2017: "In this 1,879 page thread I will unravel the byzantine system of codewords and phrases the global elite use to mask their pedophile cabal."
JEFFREY EPSTEIN WRITING AN EMAIL AT THE SAME TIME: "helo its me jeff had fun cmmitting sex crimes wit u lst weeknd"

Puff the magic dragon lived by the sea.
I don't know anything about this dye, but I trained to repair night vision goggles for the military. If you have a cheap security camera with a night mode, like Wyze or whatever, you're basically getting the same view. It was kinda neat to see in the dark, but the tiny IR LED attached had a range of just about the room you're in.
I also worked on IR spotlights which would invisibly light the world up for hundreds of meters. And heat your MRE.
I never saw a demon at any rate.
Cool.
The question was specifically about the dye. Because allegedly, it does something special.
But thank you for your input anyway.
You could buy some as it's apparently not illegal or banned
Okay. Where? Because aside from having it synthesized at a lab, I haven't found any other way to purchase it.
HOLY! That is a premium price. I'm pretty sure you would need more than 5mg for a lense. No way I can afford that. Not in this economy. Not with my source of income being as esoteric as the topic at hand.
But thank you for providing the link.
I'm kind of interested in how you acknowledge you might be having a psychotic episode yet are deeply interested in determining facts.
Is this the sort of thing you go back and forth on, into and out of, often? Can you tell me about that process of being attracted to a theory, believing it, then falling out of that belief?
You know how you read a book, or engage in some piece of media, and you have that feeling of "Wow... It'd be so cool if that was real." It's like that. While being aware it is fiction, you keep a small sliver of hope for the possibility it is not. Like some people hoped they'd get a letter from Hogwarts.
There's similar conspiracies, like this Russian dude found broken glass that, when he looks through it, he sees orbs hovering over places... Like cloaked shit is all around us. He's posted videos.
Easy enough to fake, sure, but I do pay attention to stories about orbs because they are super common UFO sightings.
I went somewhat deep in the dye conspiracy, couldn't find anything that seemed legit. I think scammers do take advantage of it and sell fake dye goggles. It got popular enough that you likely won't find legit stuff without making it yourself and I'm not sure how easy that is.

Many such cases.
