I remember when I heard about it a few days ago, my thought was "oh, lucky for spain and thought nothing more.
Then the next thing I'm hearing is "96% in UK, ohmygosh" and BBC gushing over it like it was going to be the next biggest thing.
I saw the sky darken slightly. Cool. 2 hours well spent.
I'll be sure to forward your complaints to the Moon, so it can do better in the future.
The worst part for me was people clapping. Like it's a show put on just for them. Yay, the Moon still exists! Go Moon!

I enjoyed it. The kids enjoyed it. The neighbours all enjoyed it.
I do wish they'd have moved it to the weekend rather than a Wednesday, to accommodate all those people stuck in work.
I don't know why they also decided to have a cloudy day at the same time. Some poor planning.

California here... What are clouds? Do you mean the brown fog stuff that hangs around LA or the smoke from all the fires or whatever?
I had a nice evening with friends on a hill to watch a, for us humans at least, rare event. It was nice. No clouds apart from a few in the end in northern germany.
We all gathered in a neighbour's garden with drinks and nibbles, and it was really lovely. The eclipse was almost a sideshow.
Some people just have to be contrarian. It was cool. It's 2 hours you won't have the possibility to spend again for the rest of your life.
I did think it would get much darker. My son was quite disappointed!
We went up the hill behind our house, and was filled with families from the village, which was lovely. My wife hastily made some pin hole boxes, but unfortunately the hole was too large on both of them so didn't get a great image.
I thought it was fun, was certainly the best one I've got to see so far, and I didn't see much hype about it.
I loved it. It got quite a bit darker and we got strange shadows, birds also started to freak out a little. It was such an eerie atmosphere. I did say expect it to get as dark as it did.
I don't know, I thought it was pretty neat to see. Especially considering it's such a rare event in the universe - that the moon happens to be the perfect size to cover the sun like that, and that we live in the period where eclipses are possible to see (if I remember correctly this won't always be the case on Earth?). The conditions were also perfect.
Hiked out to a field, had a beer and saw it through a pinhole. Was a nice little outing.

I saw totality and it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen in my life.
The 2017 one was absolutely mind blowing. I happened to find an area with no people and clear skies. Totality is one of the craziest things I've ever seen.
