So much needless hype building up to it.

I remember when I heard about it a few days ago, my thought was "oh, lucky for spain and thought nothing more.

Then the next thing I'm hearing is "96% in UK, ohmygosh" and BBC gushing over it like it was going to be the next biggest thing.

I saw the sky darken slightly. Cool. 2 hours well spent.

I don't know, I thought it was pretty neat to see. Especially considering it's such a rare event in the universe - that the moon happens to be the perfect size to cover the sun like that, and that we live in the period where eclipses are possible to see (if I remember correctly this won't always be the case on Earth?). The conditions were also perfect.

Hiked out to a field, had a beer and saw it through a pinhole. Was a nice little outing.

For sure, just pointing it out because it makes a difference. I didn't know the path and if it went through the UK or not.
