Agree but the wheels are really falling off. It isn't a done deal yet (for several reasons), but i think the cultural pendulum is already on its way back from "proto-fascism" toward "social democracy". The ideological effect is not necessarily going to mean electoral gains, but we can see that it's having a significant effect already.
I prefer when reactionaries are honest. I hate when they try to hide behind a layer of respectability.
I agree that on an emotional level, weasely suit and tie reactionaries are the worst. But when they can go mask off in significant numbers, when they can parade a rotten fiend like this around as their figurehead, it's definitely not a good sign for how things are going.
