TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name
/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags.
Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.
Fun will now commence.

He and Gushy changed the past hundreds of times. Even combined, Picard and Janeway couldn't get close.
Captain Picard (season 1-2): I would rather sacrifice literally my entire ship and crew than contaminate the natural development of this world.
Captain Archer: lol I'm going down there and bringing my dog with me
There was no prime directive for archer to break.
He gave a speech about it once though, that's close enough
Some kind of directive. Yes.
Hence why one of the crew members got knocked up by an alien SE1EP5
What prime directive? He wrote that shit
~~Geneva~~ Prime Suggestions
Archer could not break the Prime directive as it did not exist yet.
Kinda what I meant. He's the reason it exists.
all that leaping around in time messing stuff up really played havoc with the timeline.
Keeps Dulmur and Lucsly busy.
Phlox committed genocide, did he not?
He abstained from interfering, thus allowing nature to take its course. So... kinda.
I would suggest it's not even really close. I'm pretty sure that the Menk might feel differently about Phlox's decision in a few hundred years.
while Phlox tries to see it as 'living in harmony' and having developed a 'stable' relationship, the Valakians were definitely using them as labor, forcing them to live in compounds where food cannot be readily grown and generally taking advantage of their naivety.
To aid the Valakians was to perpetuate that enslavement.
Further, it's rather important to note Phlox didn't create the genetic issue to begin with, nor did he cause it to accelerate. while withholding medical care is problematic, so is providing medical care that allows an entire species to perpetuate the exploitation of a "lessor" species.
It's surprising how often adhering to the prime directive results in genocide.
It's a rough galaxy out there...
... if the Federation has anything to say about it.
It's complicated...
