Dude is basically a human LLM anyway

[–] stink@lemmygrad.ml 31 points 3 weeks ago

He also did some both-sides "'israel' isn't bad" crap post-genocide.

Never liked him. He's everything a redditor is. Smug, arrogant, confidently incorrect with his research.

I'm an LLM: Lhotdamn,I Love Beans

[–] curiousaur@reddthat.com 0 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

And how do you know how to do that?

[–] KuroXppi@hexbear.net 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] curiousaur@reddthat.com -1 points 3 weeks ago

And would you say that somebody taught you to do that? Trained you?

[–] curiousaur@reddthat.com -1 points 3 weeks ago

What's your point?

[–] Snort_Owl@hexbear.net 17 points 3 weeks ago

Speak for yourself

[–] makotech222@hexbear.net 29 points 3 weeks ago

you telling me 'Mr. Reddit Personified' got his brain chewed up by LLMs? Unheard of.

[–] Carl@hexbear.net 24 points 3 weeks ago

This isn't surprising. Green has always chosen speed over accuracy in the past, why would he stop now?

[–] charly4994@hexbear.net 22 points 3 weeks ago

Dude decided to get lazy and jumped into the deep end despite doing anti-AI stuff in the past. I've been trying to improve my cooking recently and the amount of times AI tries to jump in and answer my question for me makes it more difficult for myself to actually learn. As time goes on it's more and more invasive and the best solution is to just not go near it at this point because it makes it too easy. Nobody is immune.

Mr. Bazinga!?

[–] Renin@hexbear.net 16 points 3 weeks ago

He describes it as useful for quickly accessing scholarly papers, and—more troublingly—for giving himself frequent hits of “dopamine,” ...

Yeah it's this again, people hype up this technology for how fast and efficient it is. Speed and efficiency is completely irrelevant if there's no substance, anyone who builds their identity around extracting the labor of others is stuck in a colonialist cuck mentality.

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 14 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

You mean the guy who can't handle being told he is wrong about something and only likes interacting with people when they are sycophants and enablers is developing AI psychosis? shocked-pikachu

If i could get one realistic wish it would be a chance to fight the vlogbrothers. Id tske em both on at once.

[–] chgxvjh@hexbear.net 3 points 3 weeks ago

You have to get them into the right mindset by asking them questions about Uwe Boll.

[–] princeofsin@hexbear.net 14 points 3 weeks ago

Fuck this KKKracker that was "but both sides bad" to a genocide.

[–] chgxvjh@hexbear.net 12 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

I need to come to terms with the fact that the level of dopamine I’ve been getting from interacting with LLMs…with doing more and more and more and more…is not healthy for me or good for the world.

I really don't get that. What's exciting about working with LLMs? It's honestly one of the most boring things you can do on a computer once you are over the novelty of the computer doing stuff it's not explicitly programmed for.

[–] fox@hexbear.net 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Same mechanism as addiction: you get dopamine when you hit enter and wait to see if you have a winner. If you're not prone to gambling addiction it's easier to tire of the things.

For me it's like playing that Stanley Parable mini game where you have to press the button to keep the baby from crawling into the fire.

But the visuals are closer to the Severance MDR job than 3D graphics.

Productivity fetish maybe?

I think that's putting the cart before the horse.

[–] theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 3 weeks ago

Weird final straw but completely fair.

Meanwhile the vsauce guy is slipping in minecraft flock camera suggestions in videos lol

[–] Abracadaniel@hexbear.net 14 points 3 weeks ago

Heyyy Vsauce! Michael here.

You need to drink water every day to live. So do I. We all do. But is water a nutrient?

[–] FALGSConaut@hexbear.net 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I've always found him insufferable, is he actually becoming cool?

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 10 points 3 weeks ago

Dunno. I just saw a video where he bought a postcard that the album art for In the Aeroplane Over the Sea was based on and he was like don't destroy flock cameras because that would be a bad thing for the people that own and use them. I think that's a popular enough view these days though.

That's the other Green brother, this is the "I fucking love science" Green.

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 9 points 3 weeks ago

Theyre both awful

[–] KuroXppi@hexbear.net 5 points 3 weeks ago

Hank 'Get That' Green brrrrrrrrrrrr xok-og

[–] userse31@hexbear.net 9 points 3 weeks ago

POV: You're Hank Green, and you decide to piss the women off.

Don't piss women off folks, especially those who create fabrics. Bad things happen!

[–] Comrade_Cat@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 3 weeks ago

The last I saw of this loser he did some video with an expert and steamrolled the shit out of her the whole time. Just taking over her about how he looked up X and Y when she’s an expert in that field. He was always an obnoxious twat, but that was revealing of just how much of a shit he is.

That sounds very painful

[–] imogen_underscore@hexbear.net 5 points 3 weeks ago

remember when sci show made a video about transgender HRT without consulting any transfem people and there was actually harmful misinformation in the video about feminising HRT and then they didn't delete it for a year and did a half assed apology and nobody cared enough to write news stories about it? i remember

[–] Hohsia@hexbear.net 4 points 3 weeks ago

Everything is a casino

[–] KuroXppi@hexbear.net 4 points 3 weeks ago

I watched a knitting youtuber do a takedown of him. She was almost too charitable in saying that she thought he was redeemable, but, yeah, I don't watch his stuff despite how yt tries to force it down my throat
