Thats why Gran Turismo haters can fuck off.
I owned a ps4 already and Id owned Gran Turismo as a casual gamer before I decided to give sim racing a go. I bought a $200 used wheel and pedals off marketplace and built a cheap rig for about another $200.
It might be "Simcade" or whatever elitist gatekeepy shit people want to say but my total investment to suck at simracing is $500. You can spend $10,000 and still suck at Iracing.
Fuck GT haters. That game has been the gold standard of a love letter to spinning metal since ps1.
Why do people hate on Grand Turismo ? (I know nothing of these kinds of games)
People who play the more involved and serious sim racing games look down on it because (IMO) its the most accessible for casual gamers.
Browsing the sim forums are filled with people throwing hate that the core software is 29 dollars on sale and they refuse to buy it, then post with pride the 1500 dollars they paid for a SINGLE PEDAL!

I'd take my $100 quest 2 over any number of the nicest monitors. VR took the immersion of Sim driving to a level I can't come back from.
VR is definitely better than widescreen wrap-around monitors for gaming immersion. I've tried both and they are both great but VR is better. I noticed that I could drive significantly better in Assetto Corsa the first time I tried in VR mode, and I could actually get close to winning for a change. But it was a PITA to get working

Which games are good with multi-monitors? Ive been running triple setup for a while now for productivity, but I cant think of one game that scales well across monitors, though Im generally not into sims/racing and afraid of buying something to spend 2hrs refund period fiddling with settings only to find it wont work aftterall. Which one would you suggest to try?
First person shooters either get you incredible FOV or incredible distortion on the side screens, depending on the engine. Also, pulling out a rocket launcher and having it take up the entire right display is just kind of funny the first time you do it.
Morrowind lets you pin your character sheet, inventory page, etc to stay open while playing, so you can have your center screen be the standard area with the side screens showing all your other stuff.
Back in the day (like cataclysm era) multi monitor for WoW was pretty great if you were using a bunch of addons and also wanted more peripheral vision. As a raid healer, 3 monitors was pretty legitty.
Flight sims, because vr has too little resolution to read the instruments. Though putting zoom on your hotas can make vr work and then it's obviously awesome as well

Honest take. I would pay 200€ for a good simulation if hooked even with dlcs. The picture actually shows what we do wrong. Pay a lot of money for parts but safe on software.
I want a gyroscopic flight sim setup; the kind that when I do a barrel roll in the sim, I actually get spun around.
It's so weird seeing the billionaire class out and about just being the worst people imaginable because if I had that kind of money you would never see me again.
I started on a Logitech Driving Force GT I bought second hand for $40 that I would clamp to my desk.
Now I've got a full rig with a direct drive wheel, load cell pedals, a shifter, a handbrake and a VR Headset. It's definitely one of the most expensive things I've bought myself but totally worth it.
Don't make me think about how much I've spent on VR and accessories...

Yes the first time I bought it for my kid it was basically free, and I think I got mine for like 10€

Just like any hobby, you don't need the latest and greatest to enjoy it. Look at music for example. The amount of incredible albums made on shitty gear likely matches that of artists with the best gear money can buy.
Just have fun and enjoy the process. A direct drive wheel won't make you a better driver, but racecraft will. 🤙🤙🤙
