"in real life" uh no they didn't. They don't exist no hobbit has ever been sexually assaulted by virtue of none ever existing. They are fictional.
Of course you could write a story about hobbits doing such things. But then you'd be the freak thinking about hobbit SA at the drop of a hat.

The showrunners from Stranger Things said that when they were working with Sean Astin, he was basically IRL Samwise to the point that they had to cut a character arc where the dude he was playing would have ended up being an antagonist. They just couldn't do it after shooting his initial scenes.

I haven't watched the LotR movies or read the books, what the fuck is this guy talking about?
There's a part where two hobbits are kidnapped by Uruk-Hai, though Saruman orders this to attempt to seize the Ring, and they are put on a forced grueling march back to his keep that doesn't really leave room for this guy's twisted misanthropic fantasizing.

I think he's not referring to what he thinks happened in the books (I can tell you right now there was no rape in the main LotR books), but instead is building on the metaphor he's replying to. The hobbits (not as in the books, but as stand-ins for combat veterans) would have been removedd during their deployment. Not sure if he's implying it would have been done by their enemies or their fellow warfighters.
Very fucked up and out of pocket thing to post regardless.
The only think I can even remotley think he's talking about is in the scouring it says Sharkey's Ruffian's were mistreating hobbits, to take that to mean SA without additional implications is a huge stretch, assuming he's talking about the books??
Or at my most generous, maybe by IRL he means Tolkien's WWI experience, though he never mentioned SA in his letters it did happen

Also, if anyone remembers breadtuber Hbomberguy and the somewhat famous stream he did for the UK trans kids charity group called Mermaids in 2019, that was in direct response to Linehan being instrumental in getting funding cut to that charity because he doesn't think trans kids deserve any support. He's a long time transphobe piece of shit and has a particular hatred for the existence of trans children.

to me this reads more like he's trying and failing to dunk on the soldier he's quoteposting by bringing up the high levels of sexual assault in the US military, to say if they were actual veterans at least one of them would have been SAed by their fellow soldiers
