Rules on Comments
If a post is tagged with a specific gender identity, keep the conversation centered on that identity.
You must follow the Egg Prime Directive. You may not push or coerce people into identifying or not identifying a certain way. You must respect them as the gender they claim to identify as. In addition it is extremely in poor taste to make assumptions about other people's identities based on external factors, we understand it cannot be helped but it is best not to as it can affect the way you treat others in noticeable ways. Read more about this decision here.
No Ewwphoria posts. Posts which contain misogyny, misandry, transmisogyny, transmisandry, or enbyphobia for the purpose of expressing euphoria are not allowed here. At best they bring anger to others, and at worst they may trigger people's dysphoria. People who create such posts will have them removed and may be banned at moderator discretion.
Recommendations:
We strongly encourage you to include your pronouns in your account bio so that others know how to refer to you without misgendering you. If you're questioning or unsure of your pronouns, that's totally coolβjust say so.

Matt Damon getting old dot jiff
Yes and that is less than 11 years ago, right? Itβs still 2021, right?
Oh boy I sure hope gw1 isn't old enough to drink in the united sta-

I always played as a girl cause I subconsciously wanted to look like me.
I think thatβs true for everyone who isnβt cis though?
I'm cis but I often play women because I want long hair and game Devs refuse to give me long hair on men. Cyberpunk literally lets you be trans but last I played I couldn't have long hair on a guy without mods.
I'm cis as well and I play as girls because I like looking at girls. I don't have to pretend that the character I play is me. But I switch it up. I don't think too much of it.
Yeah I never understand how the chuds complain about not being able to get into a game unless the MC is a self-insert. They can't relate to someone if it's not their gender but they can pretend to be a superhero? How do they understand when someone who isn't their clone talks to them IRL?
That's how you know they're fake ass fucks ginning up incel culture war bs
I mean at this point it's the same as movies for me. If I'm considering buying a game, I will look up who the voice actors are to help me decide which role or voice I might choose for the MC. I'm a geek tho, I stay till the end of the credits
One of the best character creators has to be in the Saints Row games.
Valid, strange Cyberpunk doesn't let ya :(
outdated gender views are enforced it seems...
Personally I found it very strange that in a cyberpunk dystopia like night city where cybernetics and tattoos are everywhere...... Piercings and piercing parlors are seemingly nonexistent

Genuinely was a speed advantage in morrowind which was the first game i played that had full custom like that
Lol but yeah, played a girl anytime i could. Mine always had red hair! And well, you knowwww
Edit: idk why my client keeps messing up and leaving 2-3 copy comments π i tried fixing it lol didnt work
Never played as a man even once if there was any choice at all.
I was extremely aware that I was supposed to pick the guy character so I always did, but for some reason it was always a nice surprise to find out that the game I'm playing had a female protagonist
I would switch it up between playing as male and female avatars in games. I am non-binary tho, so.. I was splitting the diff I guess Β―β \β _β (β γβ )β _β /β Β―
I didn't, but mostly because I was a good girl who always tried to do what I'm "supposed to." I was supposed to be a boy so that is what I made my avatar. Me not picking girl avatars before I started questioning actually gave me a ton of imposter syndrome.
I think trans masc of folk often play men actually. And until recently I feel like enbies were pretty much always just disappointed.
I'm cis male and play as female in most cases. I like to believe it's a smaller hitbox. But also I'd rather stare at her ass in 3rd person than a guys ass. And if it's multiplayer other players give me things more easily π
Also dress up options are often better for female characters in my experience
Eh the female characters usually have worse facial hair choices and I want my avatar to have thick, luscious facial hair regardless of sex. See we're circus folk... (I actually wonder how untrue this statement is)
Yes. It's not me on the screen, it's a character.
Playing a nicer looking or sounding character is often nicer. Some games have different events for different choices, so I'll probably play both at some point (e.g. Mass Effect, Fallout). In some games it makes no difference at all since your character looks like dried meat, a suit of armor, or isn't on screen at all (Soulsbornes, FPS, RTS etc). And some games have fixed characters (e.g. Assassin's Creed, Horizon, Metal Gear). It's all good.
I never really cared. I often make a person that just looks like me, or what is as far away from me. I would say my characters are 70% girls, with no rhyme or reason.
I really dislike self insert because I'm not a big fan of myself in general lol. The only time I try to make a character even vaguely look like myself is when I'm playing with online friends who don't actually know what I look like. Irl friends in multiplayer games either get to see my best Picasso impression or whatever joke is dinking around in the ol brain tank in the moment. But for people who may never see me in person, that's when I try to make a character look like me. Any single player game where I create a character, I want to be as far away from my own reality as possible so I often randomize until I have something interesting and modify from there or I spend hours making someone I have never seen before in my life but could conceivably exist.
Guild Wars 2 was one of the things that made my egg crack
I had made a guy character, and randomly one day I decided actually no, this character needed to be a girl. So I used a makeover kit and Xanthus became Scarlet.
And uhhh. It felt a little... Too good? To transition one of my many characters into a pretty girl.
Add to that how happy I was to find a canonically trans NPC, and you've got a whole lot of egg cracking power
That's how I started, but I was playing Everquest Frontiers (PS2). It took me 23 years to get here.
GW2 is so so so goated
Ish
To be honest, this would be better if she rolled a Charr character, maybe a Sylvari.
That would certainly have been an impressive transformation
