I guess if I buy two chocolate bars and give one to my good friend who has no money, then I'm a terrorist?

Overview:
The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.
Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.
America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.
America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

That's gonna be tough since p much everyone hates the US now
Alternative title: the fascists in the US want the world to be ok with fascism and turn on those trying to keep a grip on democracy.
They told us to mind our own business when we told them to vote prior and during 2016. We warned them this would happen if they didn’t. We know voting works, too, the Republican voters prove this repeatedly in every election and not all of those were fraudulent or tampered with. Zohran Mamdani proves the primary and the vote works when people do their duty and stand behind their candidate.
They doubled down and elected Trump again. With a 65% turnout, making any tampering much easier to achieve and offering little incentive for their electoral college to lean blue.
Now they’re looking for every excuse to absolve themselves personally of the responsibility after another 65% turnout, asking us what can they do, expecting us to show understanding they don’t offer others, expecting us to make them feel welcome when they want to run and getting nasty when we don’t. Every one, a different angle of excuse based around the individual but all some kind of selfish, and reflective of the government they have, the quality of the representatives.
This has been going on for some time. They think the vote is earned, which sums up half the problem. No, it’s a duty. Where it goes, is earned. That’s never a hard choice. Primary or main election.
Now they’re exporting their political culture and the threats overseas to us. They’re quick to blame our eXpATs involved in it, who went there for a reason, starting or funding CPACs we didn’t want or ask for, washing us with their dogshit froth politics and spreading it everywhere. The rest of us have every right to be furious with their voters over this; their government and their Zionist attack dog threatening everything and everyone and it’s all because they wouldn’t turn out in numbers to vote. Worse, they expect understanding over that and get shitty when we don’t. Some people around the planet don’t even have a fucking right to vote much less their privileges. There’s no way in the world we’d be putting up with this if Harris had been elected and there’d be no ME war either just quietly.
The only people who can stop it is themselves as well and they can’t even agree on the right way to do that which is peaceful national shutdown. Some of them go on about getting and using guns and while it might feel good to have one it isn’t their answer. That’s without the excuses. Yes, we know it’ll be hard. Yes, it’s easy for us to say but we’d fucking act on this as well and since they want to export this shit overseas we get the right to tell them to deal with their failed vote result.
The easy way has repeatedly been ignored for years. Now it’s the hard route. The simple fact remains the sooner they get 2 weeks to a month of peaceful shutdown going (60% in all the cities would probably be enough to bring the wheels to a halt) and force Congressmen and Senators to act the easier this will be. The longer it’s left, the harder it is.
Just, please US, stop proving Churchill fucking right.
As someone that keeps a toe in right wing spaces, you should understand the blatant information war and psyop that had been going on over the course of (at least) 2020-2024.
On the right they had constant news stories about Joe Biden. He was a lackluster president and a bootlicker but on the right, he was the devil. Pure corruption. He and his son in league with china. "Let's go brandon" didnt come out of no where. The right motivated their base to vote with hate. They HATED Biden.
Meanwhile, on the left, we had that lackluster president. He tried to do good work (I guess) but it was all establishment work. Even what he pulled off got shot down by the Supreme Court which fucked his policies and the country left and right. Then, when Isreal/Palestine became main stream news his entire voter base got educated on complex middle eastern topics and they didnt want to vote in support of Isreal. It really didnt help that they forced Harris to be the ticket. You would think, that given how Hilary turned out they would have learned, but the democrats dont want socialist policies. They want to pretend to be "for the people." while changing nothing. Thats why they rallied around issues that effect less than 3% of the ENTIRE (not just kids) population of the country.
So what I'm saying is, the right got motivated to vote in 2024 because of constant propaganda, news, and general hate engines of bot nets...and then left fell into voter apathy.
I dont know if there's one simple group to blame. It was multiple groups. Multiple factors. All failing. To bring us here. 2024 felt like the setting sun of freedom. I cant explain it. I just had the vibe that whole summer that it was never going to be this 'loud.' It felt like the last moments of decency.
Even still.
Harris STILL got the popular vote. Even with all that. But our systems are fucked and our voters heads are fucked with, so I dont know, maybe it was inevitable. Im tired and just watching the fire burn at this point. Can't outrun it. Can't stop it.
You can stop it…60% of the people in urban areas completely shutting down peacefully will have it sorted in a month.
Pick your hardship ay, it scales upwards from voting attendance being the easiest. Peaceful shutdown is better than trying a civil war on.
Absolutely agree. Unfortunately, I believe the population as a whole has become so complacent that the resistance has been pounded out of them by their screens and mod cons. E.g. People all over the internet complain about cars/appliances with subscriptions, and the loss of CDs/DVDs. But people must be buying them, ‘cause they’re not going away. WHY don’t people just stop buying them?? If everyone JUST STOPPED BUYING THEM, they would go away.
That’s why I’m reluctant to let go of my old Corolla
I’d love an EV, but I don’t want a subscription based, fully tracked car
I’m driving a 1999 Rav4. Love it!!!
I saw one the other day, 2001, only had…wait for it…213k on it, for just over 2k and fuck I wish I’d have had the cash lying around ay
Manual too, with roadworthy and registered till September
Bargain it was
Terrorists are the people that want healthcare and upheld constitutional rights, non terrorists are the guys that kidnapped another country's leader, keep air striking random boats, killed a different country's leader after inviting him to the negotiation table, and continue to be complicit in multiple genocides.
I think that some people might disagree on who's the terrorist here
In the UK, the average terrorist is a white woman in her 50s for having expressed syympathy with Palestine Action by holding up a piece of paper.
Call me a terrorist because I want your parents with failing health to have good healthcare and a decent end of life where they can retire and live for living's sake instead of drowning in work exhaustation, fuck this country.
"Hitler wants to globalise fight against far-left 'terrorism'" would have been the headline if the media of the 1930s and 1940s were as pathetic as the media of the 2020s.
It was. The Nazis, Italian fascists, Spanish Phalangists all viewed their struggles as purely against communism. That was their logic behind the war.
Empathy is terrorism now. Yallqaeda said so
Counter offer: globalize fight against the US
I'd like to congratulate the fascists on stripping the word terrorism of all meaning.
Nah it never had meaning. It's always been a word to dehumanize your political rivals.
I'm not sure I fully agree with this: people who strap bombs onto their body and then explode themselves in crowded public markets are terrorists by any meaningful definition, whether Tamil or otherwise. The problem is that the term has been expanded to include everything up to and including mean words.
The nominal definition is a person or group that uses violence to achieve political goals. By that definition, the US military, George Washington, and all US backed coup leaders are terrorists. Of course, the US would never call them that because it would expose the contradiction. It is and has always been selectively applied to America's enemies.
There's another aspect to this. The AUMF gave the president complete military control with no restrictions to fight the "War on Terror". So when Maduro and the random boats in the Caribbean were labeled "narco-terrorists" it was to give a flimsy justification for the president to use the military however he wanted.
"Terrorist" can mean freedom fighter. It can mean revolutionary. It can mean political rival. It can mean peaceful people with the wrong political beliefs. It can just mean fisherman. But it has never had a definition that has been consistently applied because that's not what it's for.
The only difference between a terrorist and a revolutionary is victory.
Not even that. If a revolution overthrows a US-backed dictator, they will still be labeled a terrorist group after they are victorious.
The nominal definition is a person or group that uses violence to achieve political goals.
The nominal definition is missing a key component: chiefly at non-military targets. So the suicide bomber that rammed into the the Marine barracks in 1983, Beirut was not a terrorist: he was a soldier engaging with the enemy. A suicide bomber, however, strapping on a bomb and setting it off in a busy marketplace is chiefly aiming at civilians and that is, in fact, definitively terrorism. And there were certainly a lot of actions taking place in the ACW that qualified completely and absolutely as terrorism (including the many concentration camps that held military and civilian prisoners indiscriminately and allowed them to die). (I don't know enough specifics about the American Revolution to know if George Washington was a terrorist or not. For some strange reason non-American countries don't go into squalid detail on that little tussle.)
But bombing or shelling a city indiscriminately like the US did many, many, many times starting from WWII and barely slowing down is definitely terrorism under any sane definition. So yes, the US military qualifies as terrorists under that generally-understood definition and is not openly called out on that because of, essentially, bigotry and fear of what the USA would do in return. And most US-backed coups and dictators were definitely terrorists. (Hell, a lot of Israel's leadership were openly terrorists aiming at civilians while carving their bloody piece of the "Holy Land" out.)
… it has never had a definition that has been consistently applied because that’s not what it’s for.
Here you spit truth. In the social sciences there are consistent definitions. In politics it's purely about the convenience of being able to label someone something bad.
Fascists = Capitalists. No need to differentiate the 2 terms really..
I'm so sick of this little kid pointing the finger regime, grow up you fucking assholes
They’re grown up. They know exactly what they’re doing. This is straight out of the fascist playbook.
I know that in my head, but it just seems like exactly what they're doing, I'm honestly just sad people are falling for it over and over
I choose to read this in bad faith: the GOP is scared shitless.
Well Communism is the big scary word for people who do not know what it means, or if they think the USSR and China were/are good examples of it. Of course if that is to far left Socialism can also be a big scary word, like the socialist healthcare every other 1st world country has.
Thats not going to happen the far right loves having the far left around
Far left is anyone they do not like. Whether it is someone who actually does believe in dismantling the corporation and putting a bounty on the head of the wealthy (and offering 100% legal immunity to the perps) or someone who was full-blown Maga but they got hit fucking hard by the shit and is asking them to tone it down. Doesn't matter.
Yes i know they mean moderate dems because actual far left they like.
