I don't mind pineapple on pizza. And pineapple of nachos sounds awesome. With jalapenos, red onion and meat?

Yeah, gimme

[–] Adulated_Aspersion@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago

This sounds delicious.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 8 points 14 hours ago

Al pastor has pineapple. I like that.

[–] VitoRobles@lemmy.today 19 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

People who get pissy off of pineapple on pizza are so corny. It's like level 1 controversy types of foods. We got countries putting spaghetti and squid on pizza.

[–] SocialMediaRefugee@lemmy.world 4 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I have a bigger problem with putting tomato slices on pizzas. They are mostly water so they not only shrivel down to sad little strips but they leave the pizza soggy.

[–] TubularTittyFrog@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

you don't cook the pizza with slices on it. the go on after, or you used pre-cooked/dried tomatoes

cold sliced roma and fresh basil is pretty great on a pizza.

[–] nullspace@lemmy.world 6 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

I'm convinced it was never the pineapple which set off their distaste, but rather the shitty ham that comes on hawaiian pizza from some chains.

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 10 hours ago

The shitty ham certainly did not help. Picking off the pineapple left sad in it’s place.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 4 points 16 hours ago

The pineapple being hot alters the taste a bit. I like Hawaii pizza, but if I make it at home I put room temp pineapple on it after baking instead of baking it with the pizza because I want the tanginess more than the sweetness.

[–] mbp@slrpnk.net 7 points 15 hours ago

Throw some pork / chorizo on it and call it al pastor. I'll eat it even with broccoli

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 18 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

What kind of monster puts broccoli on their nachos?

[–] NottaLottaOcelot@lemmy.ca 1 points 6 hours ago

Someone trying to eat their nutrients? The pineapple should overpower the taste

[–] titanicx@lemmy.zip 7 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

This is some white level 100 shit.

Is it controversial? Pineapple is a common ingredient in salsa here.

[–] Saapas@piefed.zip 16 points 23 hours ago

Same here. Some like it since it gives nice sweetness. I don't care for it.

On pizza it works with some toppings. Chicken hawaii is great for example

[–] TomMasz@piefed.social 8 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I was just thinking that. Mango, too. Nice for a change once in a while.

[–] rustydrd@sh.itjust.works 8 points 20 hours ago (1 children)
[–] arin@lemmy.world 4 points 18 hours ago

I love this! I will try it

[–] trijste@lemmy.ca 21 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

I fuck with pineapple. It’s like bbq sauce in fruit form.

[–] sicarius@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago

Pineapples contain bromelain, an enzyme that breaks down proteins, even in human flesh, earning them the nickname "the fruit that eats you back".
I passed out while eating a pineapple drunk once to wake up in the morning with my face all burnt.
I would not suggest sticking your dick in it.

[–] otp@sh.itjust.works 9 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

I fuck with pineapple. It’s like bbq sauce in fruit form.

Maybe it's because I don't use BBQ sauce during sex, but I don't understand fucking with pineapple

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 7 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Easy, you core it out, and fuck it!

[–] akwd169@sh.itjust.works 3 points 17 hours ago

Warm it up in the microwave a bit first

[–] trijste@lemmy.ca 2 points 17 hours ago

Not saying you’re missing out but you could be getting fruitier.

[–] graycube@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago (3 children)
[–] MummifiedClient5000@feddit.dk 15 points 22 hours ago

That's the real crime here.

[–] theunknownmuncher@lemmy.world 13 points 23 hours ago (11 children)

I also like broccoli on pizza a lot.

[–] rustydrd@sh.itjust.works 8 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Me too! When we both inevitably go to hell for our culinary sins, we should hang out!

[–] theunknownmuncher@lemmy.world 4 points 18 hours ago

Yeah that's cool with me

I'd eat them.

[–] FrowingFostek@lemmy.world 6 points 20 hours ago

I'd fuck this up so quick. I've been on a pineapple kick for a while now.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 8 points 22 hours ago (3 children)

You’re missing the olives.

[–] janus2@lemmy.zip 2 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

ok tbf I've known Mexicans and Mexican Americans who put black olives on tacos

Pickles on tacos is where it’s at.

[–] MintyFresh@lemmy.world 8 points 22 hours ago

Straight to hell.

[–] nightlily@leminal.space 2 points 16 hours ago

There was a coffee shop in my home town that did nachos with black olives. It was not as bad as you might expect.

[–] viral.vegabond@piefed.social 9 points 1 day ago (7 children)

I am morbidly curious, what all is in this?

I used to make these all the time. Based mine off of some tacos from a now-closed Denver restaurant. Mine featured spiced ground beef, pepper jack, caramelized piña, diced avocado, black beans, and a light drizzle of habanero mayo. Dang, now I'm hungry.
