Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

Granted she seems like the kind of person that I celebrate getting robbed on the highway, details.
I’d agree it’s an excessive price. but looks like an American tourist. Probs just some impromptu tariff.
Or they went to a total tourist trap type place. Either way I’m okay with it. Happens everywhere.

This just in: tourist traps exist
You can always say: "I didn't order that, and I'm not paying for it." If they don't like it, they can call the police. Most cities with heavy tourism take a dim view of cheats. Bad for business.
I found Rome overcrowded, moderately expensive and full of tourists, but was there to meet friends, so I chose to put up with it for a few days. Avoiding the tourist traps, it's not a bad city of its size, far less of a rip-off than, say, London. I went on to another part of Italy which was much more pleasant, less crowded and more affordable. And the food was better.

I've been told a fun thing to do in Rome is to walk up to one of the tourist trap restaurants that has a tout at the door. Those guys know like 5 or 6 different languages, and they try to lure unsuspecting tourists to sit down at their restaurant. Anyhow, the play is to walk up to one of these touts and to start speaking Classical Latin at them. Latin is close enough to several Romance languages they do know that it seems familiar, but it's not quite intelligible. And it's really confusing to them to figure out which one you are speaking.
Of course it helps if you're conversational in Latin.
Not knowing Latin: it's more fun to see if you can get them to tell you how much they charge for a bottle of water before they seat you
