Your comment gave me an idea for a movie/dock/rockumentry, which follows the life of Al Yankovic through a parody of Being John Malkovich.
I feel like Al would be down for that.
Looks like he has them hooked up to where his touch closes a loop and each banana plays a note, so he can make music with bananas for scale.

I've bought one years ago! Probably still have it somewhere. As i recall this connected as a midi kit. It was really fun showing this to people but unfortunantly didn't get much use in my case

You can wire bananas (and other things) to be capacitive switches/buttons, it was a nifty diy maker project a bit ago. It looks like he made a keyboard with them, so theyre bananas for scale (as in a musical scale)
