Has anyone else seen the series about John Brown? I'm in the process of watching it, and it's pretty damn great.

The Good Lord Bird

It's like punisher, but it's based on real events, and a lot of racists get violently killed while this guy recites Bible verses.

There are not enough rat salute emojis in the world for John Brown. Rest in power.

Unrelated, what is a Vintage 30?

The Vintage 30 is a guitar loudspeaker manufactured by Celestion. It's the one in my profile picture if your Lemmy client supports them. (Edit: now it's my profile picture. Apparently that didn't get transferred from SDF when I moved to Anarchist Nexus.)

Vintage 30

Ironically, the Vintage 30 is not very vintage at all, both chronologically and sonically. It's basically the default speaker cabinet for recording metal guitars. That + a Shure SM57 microphone + any decent high-gain amp head will get you 90% of the way to a good metal tone that cuts through the mix. 🤘

Do you prefer UK-made 30s or Chinese-made 30s? I personally give it to the UK ones because of the mid-range they have.

In May 1856, Brown and his sons killed five supporters of slavery in the Pottawatomie massacre, a response to the sacking of Lawrence by pro-slavery forces. Brown then commanded anti-slavery forces at the Battle of Black Jack and the Battle of Osawatomie.

Nothing wrong with less losers and suckers in the world.

When I talk about faith and righteousness in the West, this is more or less what I picture. RIP, king. 🙏

Let's be honest, things could've gone better.
