I feel chaotic evil should be a tape as an X over top then all sides tapped to make it even harder to remove.

I mix chaotic good (strips align with the sides of the paper) and chaotic neutral (multiple strips on every side) because I don't want the tape to cover too much of the page while also making sure that it stays where it is. Using long strips of tape is inconvenient, though, because it usually either curls up (very annoying) or ends up being slightly crooked (ugly). Using multiple short strips also allows you to put the picture up on a wall without fully committing, which makes it easier to correct placement and angle, while a single long strip is an immediate commitment.
