Thousands of demonstrators gathered in the western German city of Giessen on Saturday as the far-right Alternative for Germany’s new youth organization was set to kick off its founding convention.

Groups of protesters blocked or tried to block roads in and around the city of some 93,000 people in the early morning. Police said they used pepper spray after stones were thrown at officers at one location.

The new youth organization of the anti-immigration Alternative for Germany, or AfD, is to be set up in a meeting at Giessen’s convention center. Its predecessor, the Young Alternative — a largely autonomous group with relatively loose links to the party — was dissolved at the end of March after AfD decided to formally cut ties with it.

Zusammengewürfelte C3-Tipps:

  • Gemeinsames Ticketkaufen (in unserer matrix) lohnt sich mehr, als Tickets alleine zu kaufen,
  • Merchkaufen vor Ort früh oder gar nicht mehr,
  • Pass auf, dass deine Bahn nach 0uhr noch fährt (HVV-App),
  • Im CCH lohnt sich das Türentesten (oben) beim vollen Saal,
  • Besuche die feddit-Assembly,
  • Essen ist außerhalb des Geländes billiger
  • Assembly-Anmeldung zum 39C3 ging spätestens am 28.9.25 im Backoffice online
  • 38C3 hatte 3 Verkaufstermine, alle 3 mit Captcha, am 12.11., 17.11. und 23.11.
  • 39C3 hatte 2 Verkaufstermine, alle 4 ohne Captcha, am 08.11. und 17.11.
  • Eine exakte Systemclock hilft mehr, als ständiges Neuladen der Ticketseite
  • Die Tickets sind pro Termin innerhalb von ca. 15min ± 3min weg, trotzdem ist ein Ticketplatz bei 50min besser als nichts

Random C3 advices:

  • Coordinate the ticket-sale as a group for way greater chances,
  • If you don’t buy C3-merch early, there won’t be any left,
  • There might be no train-traffic in regions of Hamburg anymore after 0 AM (see HVV app),
  • Check if there are any doors open in (upper) Hall 1 (CCH), there is still a chance even if they’re closed already,
  • Visit the feddit.org-assembly,
  • Food is way cheaper off-site
  • Assembly-registration backoffice for the 39C3 went online on the September 28th 2025 or earlier
  • 38C3 had three sale dates, all three with Captcha as bot protection, on November 12, November 17, and November 23.
  • 39C3 had two sales dates, all four without Captcha, on November 8 and November 17.
  • An accurate system clock is more helpful than constantly reloading the ticket page.
  • Tickets are sold out within approximately 15 minutes ± 3 minutes per sale date, but a place at 50 minutes in the ticket line is better than nothing.
