Simply, no it isn't. I took a look, it's honestly a nice community and doesn't look like "an echochamber of misandry" Saying this as a guy btw

Speaking as a man: Stop white knighting my gender.

We don't need your protection or worry.

Women making jokes on our expense does not hurt us.

I checked out their feed since I figured I must have missed a big burst of bad content, but I don't see anything misandrist. I see a few posts critical of certain men, but even that's the minority of content.

Even going through comments I see only a healthy amount of misandry. I don't see any organizing of violence against all men, or even normalizing of it.

If you're feeling triggered by the things you see in a space meant for an oppressed class to vent then I think you're just too sensitive.

But do I tag this user as "troll" or "misogynist"?

Yeah, this is even better.

If you don't identify as a woman, it doesn't matter whatever the fuck is going on in there because it clearly says it's not about you.
Until they start brigading other communities I see no reason why men should even care, let alone actively engage.

[–] Nibodhika@lemmy.world 0 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

First let me start by saying that I don't think this is the case for this community because the "examples" of misandry OP shared are clearly not misandryc, but:

If you don't identify as a woman, it doesn't matter whatever the fuck is going on in there because it clearly says it's not about you.

That's a problematic logic, imagine a community of white supremacists saying "If you're not white it doesn't matter what we do here, because it's clearly not about you" and you'll understand why.

[–] HerbalGamer@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 hours ago

Yeah but nah because one is a choice and one isn't. As a white man I wouldn't feel comfortable commenting my opinions on any other ethnicity's problems either.

[–] Watermark710@piefed.social 10 points 21 hours ago

Seriously. I saw that it was a space for women, and since I'm not a woman I blocked the community so I don't accidentally comment in a community where I'm not wanted. If the ladies need a space to vent, there's nothing wrong with that.

[–] Elting@piefed.social 19 points 1 day ago

I haven't noticed a prevalence of that there. Checking it just now I can't find a single example of misandry. Maybe you are just misreading the vibe.

Hey OP, just wanted to pop in to see how your attempt to garner support for your shitass take on an online space that isn’t meant for you was going.

looks around

Yup. Pretty much what I thought.

Yeah talking about what we would pair with a sweater or talking about our Monday motivations or supporting DKP’s garden adventures is total misandry. You got us.

[–] dkppunk@piefed.social 4 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Fuck yeah! I appreciate all the gardening support!! 💚

[–] velma@sh.itjust.works 1 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

I hope you post more pics soon! The weather has turned gorgeous where I am, I hope your plants are enjoying it too :)

[–] dkppunk@piefed.social 2 points 13 hours ago

They are doing really well. I’ll have to get some up on the next motivation Monday or weekend post :)

My luffas are luffaing!!

There’s misandry communities?

Where?

Edit: aw a downvote and no answer? I’m curious, where’s all these misandry communities you speak of?
