Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

What backdoor? They literally erased the voting power of black Americans living in the slaveholding States. It couldn't be more obvious and overt if the ruling used the N word.

[–] TheGoldenV@lemmy.world 14 points 4 days ago

Roberts always uses a hard R.

[–] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago

Yeah, I think they allowed it in the front door.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 days ago

The backdoor they slid the racism in through, based on the process used to disenfranchise voters.

I'm not sure they used an actual eraser, so the "literally" part seems weird.

Shut up, loser. You and your former boss share blame for why we're here. Get out of the way and support the people who want to fix it.

[–] MBech@feddit.dk 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I could respect her if she had tried to do something after the election, but she went radio silence when her voters needed her most. She could've been leading protests, reminding everyone of their rights, been arrested with her people, but no. She fucked off after losing, leaving people with no leader.

[–] stringere@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago

Fucked off just long enough for any backlash to die down before poking her head up like some dystopian political prarie dog.

Unless the "slamming" involves a head in a car door, or equivalent situation, can we please stop using this verb in mass media when it comes to simple criticism.

On the same note, claiming that someone "blasts" someone else should include the use of actual explosives.

They just want to keep Kamala's name in the media...

The wealthy are panicking that they don't control the dnc, so we're going to see the media keep acting like this shit does anything.

Counter propaganda for that recent poll where Harris got "slammed" into 3rd place among prospective Democrats.

Harris should have run for governor in CA to re-enforce her ability to win a statewide election. Should have been a layup for her. But you don't come off an L like she delivered in '24 and expect to be a starter. That'd just be silly.

[–] jimmy90@lemmy.world -3 points 4 days ago

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The wealthy

It's not often used even in our hemisphere, but using "they" and clarifying in the next sentence has been around for a while, before Shakespeare and shipping criminals to your continent at least.

It's definitely archaic tho, and if I had realized I was doing it at the time, I probably would have changed the phrasing.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 2 points 4 days ago

I was referring to Harris.;)

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca -1 points 4 days ago

She's not allowed opinions of her own? Are you secretly a supreme Court justice with that nullification?

[–] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 2 points 4 days ago

I've always gone with "slammed" should be followed by "through the announcer's table".

God damn she's pathetic. Even now she can't actually say what it actually is, full blow, open racism from the Republican members of the court.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 4 days ago

She can only go so far (not very far) without indicting herself...

[–] Upgrayedd1776@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 days ago

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

"Top Cop" Kamala?

[–] Auk@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

Progressives urge the Dems to shift left of center.

[–] mycodesucks@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

"Backdoor" apparently means "roll out the red carpet for" now.

[–] tacosanonymous@mander.xyz 7 points 4 days ago

She didn’t even powerbomb them. Smdh

Looks a lot more like a front door assault, like the old cross burning days.

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 days ago

Didn't this happen nearly a week ago? Jesus Christ... I hate these democrats so much.

[–] YoureHotCupCake@lemmy.world 0 points 4 days ago (1 children)

What about the racism and genocide of the Palestinians? She could have slammed that and be in a position to do something about the racism here.

[–] youcantreadthis@quokk.au 0 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

No see its Palestinians who are supposed to use the servants entrance zios need to be allowed to use the front door how else will they fit the hardware for their rape dungeons in think before you speak
