Hey stupid, that means they find you attractive.

^This. "Used to" is just a safety phrase that gives them a way to back out if you're not into it.

This has happened to me. The person telling me was about to get married and I was living in a different town, far away. I was just visiting and happened to cross paths with them. To be fair, it hurt a bit, because I asked them out several times and they always rejected me. I knew they rejected me because being an undiagnosed autistic, I was "the weirdo" of the class and nobody wants to date the weirdo. My reaction to them at the moment of telling me was telling them: So what do I do with that now? And they didn't know what to tell me. I can tell my reply created an uncomfortable silence. I haven't seen them ever since, even though I visited my hometown several times and it's not that big of a place.

I'm glad you called them out on it because that's an insane thing to say to someone when you're about to get married.

In hindsight, I know I dodged a bullet, because marrying them would have meant remaining in a place that, for me, was a shithole that was killing me. So it was for the best if they rejected me.

Still, it's a pretty shitty thing to say to someone that had a crush on you and told you more than once.

Me overhearing the conversation: “Someone mention some soda?”

[–] toynbee@piefed.social 2 points 3 days ago

Okay, but what did the guy in the photo do to make himself relevant?

[–] Grandwolf319@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Am I the only one that took this as pretext to some guilt trip or something?
