So many layers to pull apart there!
I think 95% of it is flying over my head, so I'm in the uncomfortable position of asking for a joke to be explained. Please?
The name is a play on the phrase "bear in mind", which means to bear (carry) a thought. The next layer is that the character is an actual bear in your mind (has telepathy).
And amnesia = barren mind
Also a Baron is a title of leader mobility and a Barren mind would be empty, like amnesia.
At one point he insulted a royal and had to duel him. Ended up losing an arm and had to get a prosthetic. It was quite the faux paw.
