New idea for a community on lemmy called Jiminee cricket were the first comment is my voice of consciousness.

Edit: Despite the cases against stealing the bike. I decided not after seeing if I could borrow/steel the bike. My adhd told me to post DSA literature.

Edit: would not recommend this generation of posts too much toxic masculinity

Noup, that's called stealing. Intending to return it later part is irrelevant and a regular excuse used by thiefs.

If you need to borrow it, then ask from the owner.

No.

Even in a safe, posh neighbourhood you're very likely to get beaten.

You might have justified it in your own mind but to everyone else you're just a thief.

It's a tourist destination in Florida. Very sparkly populated and it's a RV park

You just skipped the part where he's saying you will be beaten.

What if the owner of the bike need it before you return it?

[โ€“] gon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Depends on how long you intend to keep it, if you know the owner, the time of day, and probably other stuff. But yeah, if you really need, I'm not strictly against it.

The community idea is kinda funny, I like it!

oh man this is one of the worst car accidents I ever saw. He was going to friends just 3 miles away. Why would even drive that. I mean its a bit much to walk but any decent bike would get your there. Man if he had a bike he would be healthy and fine now hanging with his friend. Why oh why don't people bike.

Interesting take, but I actually wanted to take a bike to the beach at night and a lake, but drive was a little too long of a drive and late into the night

[โ€“] HubertManne@piefed.social 1 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

no that is your victims story. your fine but a murder is all.

[โ€“] solidheron@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

My victim died in a car accident? Just explain what my victims story is

[โ€“] HubertManne@piefed.social 1 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago) (1 children)

you stole the bike. not having his bike he drove or got a ride that resulted in a car crash and death. stealing for a period of space time does not mean you don't have impact on the victim. another story is he can't get to work and loses his job and shelter and ends up on the street. because the bike was not there for a period. there is an unlimited number of possible consequences. (note im not saying you did its a story to emphasize while stealing for an amount of space time can be as bad or worse than stealing and keeping)

How did I steal a bike? Keep in mind I admitted in an edit that I decided against borrow/stealing it.

[โ€“] HubertManne@piefed.social 2 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

its a hypothetical. A morality story because you posed a moral question in your title. I tried to edit my reply thinking you might have this misunderstanding but it did not seem to help.

[โ€“] solidheron@sh.itjust.works -1 points 4 weeks ago

Damn food like a chair simply because I asked how I stole a bike.

No idea what a morality story is
