Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

Alt TextBlueSky post by user @hemlock.bsky.social that reads,

I am a transit maximalist. I believe that when a girl hornyposts from the other side of the country; I should be able to get on a maglev and arrive in her city before the prog is out of her system for no more than $40. All policy should bend to serve this goal.

Is this what it means when you use the phrase "getting railed"?

[–] Sivecano@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 11 hours ago

I stand behind this policy proposal.

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 53 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Everyone worried about population decline needs to read this.

[–] Protoknuckles@lemmy.world 44 points 18 hours ago (4 children)

I mean, 2 girls kicking it wild style tends not to result in children that often, but God bless them for trying.

[–] teslekova@sh.itjust.works 7 points 12 hours ago

Hmmm. You think maybe we let men use the rails too? Like dirty hobos? Big ol sweaty hobos, confined in a freight car for hours on end with nothing else to do?

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 27 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Averaging it out, 25-45% of potential pairings would result in compatible gametes so I say let's get some maglevs.

Just like how the train caused massive changes to human genetics, 40 minute booty calls would do even more.

[–] festnt@sh.itjust.works 8 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

wait the train caused genetic changes? this is the first time i've heard of that

[–] Valmond@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 hour ago

Bicycles even more.

Fall in love with someone 5 kilometers away was suddenly possible.

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 12 points 17 hours ago

I first heard about it James Burkes' "Connections" series. People could now meet romantic partners hundreds of miles away.

[–] applebusch@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Unless one is trans. Still doesn't result in children often, but at least there's a chance!

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 7 hours ago

MTF + FTM = babby forms, mebbe

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 4 points 17 hours ago

Good. GOOOD! There's too many people on Earth, it is oh so so crowded. We aren't appreciated as is, and now you want to squeeze more people on it?

Our governments go out of their way to subtly make every aspect of our lives a living hell on purpose, don't be fooled. You can tell by thr red tape, the stoplight for pedestrians turning red just a moment before they can make it accross, while cars have a long green period.

The way partialy disabled people are expected to work as much as an able-bodied person, even if just having their disability diagnosed makes them unemployable.

The way they paternalize you by restricting drugs that aren't even narcotic, stimulant, hallucinogen or addictive, just so you can't treat yourself, and you have to go through the corrupt medical system, and play the price is right with bribes.

Maybe the doctor is a moron, or just feels like fucking you over, tf do you do?

You are blamed for needing anything, and if you don't need anything, people just asume you are where you are because you wasted money, or got high, or whatever.

Your co-workers with smiling faces, actively see you as a threat, and try to fuck you over in any way possible, the people you have to see every day.

Why push a child into this world?

[–] kittenzrulz123@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Mrrrroooow :3 (I'm the one doing the hornyposting)

[–] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 11 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

are you near a public transit hub?

[–] kittenzrulz123@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

I live in NYC near several subway stations so I would say I'm about maybe 30 minutes from Penn Station :3

hopefully OP is on her way. don't lose hope

[–] lmr0x61@lemmy.ml 41 points 21 hours ago

Society would be categorically better if this were achieved.

Hilariously this does broadly coincide with a political desire to increase the birth rate.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 17 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Maglev shit, we need to be investing in teleport technology. Instead, any breakthroughs are being hushed up by Big Border.

[–] Kowowow@lemmy.ca 10 points 18 hours ago

Forget teleportation we need pocket dimension housing so don't need to worry about transportation

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 6 points 17 hours ago

I've never agreed more with the sentiment in my life.

[–] KairuByte@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 21 hours ago (4 children)

Literally impossible in certain countries.

[–] Not_mikey@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 20 hours ago

Depends on where the horniness is coming from, if it's from prog(esterone?) like the op said and it's tied to hormonal cycles then you maybe got a day to get over there.

[–] femtek@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

China claims its T-Flight vacuum-tube maglev train has set a world speed record in prototype testing. It's eventually targeting at least 1,000 km/h, significantly quicker than an airliner https://newatlas.com/transport/china-vacuum-maglev/

ill need to do the calculations.

[–] KairuByte@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (1 children)

Yeah, surprisingly even at those speeds, you’re looking at over 4 hours from one side of the US to another.

[–] possumparty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 17 hours ago

which is 2 hours 20 minutes faster than flying from jfk to lax, and the prog has a half life of between 9-16 hours with peak levels between 1-8 hours so in theory you could take the train and still have 4-5 hours to romp

[–] SolacefromSilence@fedia.io 7 points 21 hours ago (1 children)
[–] KairuByte@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 21 hours ago (4 children)

No, you misunderstand. It is literally impossible, with current technology, to achieve the desired metric because of the sheer size of some countries.

Even if you somehow managed to have a fleet of Blackbirds at your disposal for instant public transport, it would take well over an hour to reach one end of the US/Canada to the other, just as an example.

[–] drosophila@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 hour ago

Ah, but ICBMs have a response time of 25 to 30 minutes. So we simply need to remove the warheads and replace them with horny people. This would have the additional benefit of advancing nuclear disarmament.

Of course there would need to be a way to safely decelerate the payload and land at the destination, but that's just details.

[–] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 7 hours ago

We can have a lil exaggeration for effect tho, as a treat

[–] FerretyFever0@fedia.io 30 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Guess we need to make the technology more efficient then. Don't you understand? This girl wants to fuck other girls.

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 11 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

The most critical issue of our time

[–] SharkWeek@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 18 hours ago

Agreed!

(Not saying this just because I'm horny right now, but because I will also be horny later ...)

[–] Godnroc@lemmy.world 6 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

MATH! Estimated width of the US: 4506km Fastest maglev train: 600km/h Time to go cross country for sapphic love: 7 hours, 31 minutes.

[–] Cevilia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 17 hours ago

We need faster maglev trains, or maglev trains with comfy beds. I'll be there in the morning.

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 1 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

By what metric? Size? Terrain?

[–] KairuByte@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

Hawaii is a 10/11 hour flight from certain parts of the us.

Alaska is 11/12 hours to Florida, 14/15 to Puerto Rico.

Even if you don’t want to include those, it’s 6/7 hours from Seattle to Miami.

Yukon to Newfoundland is 6/7 hours.

These exclude boarding times and such.

Even if you went with current high speed trains, and exclude continental breaks between land masses, you’re talking about quite a few hours.

Good luck staying horny that long.

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 23 points 21 hours ago

Good luck staying horny that long.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 11 points 19 hours ago

What part of "all policy should bend to serve this goal" did you not understand? We're not done 'til we have $40 hypersonic suborbital flights, and if it takes a greater than Manhattan Project or Apollo level of effort to get there then, damn it, that's what we'll have to do!
