On the android side (Advanced Protection), but yes I do, for both account and device. I'm currently running the stock OS after a few years of graphene, and the things I'm most worried about AP now covers (most important, USB data access if my device is seperated from my person). Had it not been an option, I'd still be replacing the stock system.

I'm not a high value target, but I have had people attempt to attack me and my accounts, and there is almost no downside (for the account side, you need a physical security key; for the device side, sideloading takes a couple more steps and reboots). Being someone that uses the same username almost everywhere makes it easy for others to connect with me, but also makes tracking and attacking me dead-simple. I also use my phone heavily, from medication tracking to to-do lists and reminders, emails and banking; and I figure I'm already using crazy-long passwords, MFA, siloing my data under my own control... why wouldn't I take advantage of more security?

I’ve tried it and everything works, including 5G data, except calls and texts. My garbage carrier does not support it (not in america).

I’d probably use it if I were experiencing some sort of attack, like if someone was actively spamming me for MFA prompts or credential stuffing.

Or if I was going to a political protest.

I don't do anything on my phone that I need to hide. I barely use it, and it's used for mundane things. I don't have any apps installed, I don't do banking on it, or shop on it, or use it to pay for anything. I don't use it for email. My phone doesn't know very much about me, and that's how I like it. I also don't have face unlock set up, I enter my pin every time I use it.

Yes, I know it can track my location, and I know they consolidate everything known about me across all of my accounts, and where I shop and what I buy, etc, but putting the phone in lockdown won't change that. So, yeah, they know a lot about me, I can't help that, no one really can, unless they're born off the grid and live in a cabin somewhere--which sounds pretty good, until you need help.

When I used one for work I did not use it because I was not in a position that requires it.
