Iran’s ballistic missile program could be destroyed in a few weeks. The regime would be so weakened that it could not choke off the Strait of Hormuz, and the likelihood that Iran would land blows against U.S. interests in neighboring countries was assessed as minimal.
they aren't wrong, the play worked for israeli interests - there is now a shooting war between Iran and the US that the US can't/won't extricate itself from. this has been the likud dream for decades.
this is like project Ukraine for the US - it doesn't matter if Ukraine wins or loses, it matters if they fight. similarly, it doesn't matter to Israeli psychos if the US wins or loses, it matters that they fight Iran.
The difference is that Ukraine used to be a neutral country, and needed a lot of external intervention building its Nazi army and putting warmonger compradors in charge; whereas the US comes fully pre-Nazified, has been frothing to invade Iran for 50 years in its own right, and also controls the zionist entity's purse strings.
