I dont listen as religiously as I used to, and life has dealt many challenges to me and the dry boys (and co), but its nice to see them still standing. Its been nice to know that at least somewhere out there are people who are just as outraged by the state of the world as I am. Cheers

I haven't listened in so long, I can't even remember. but 10 years ago it was a real cultural moment. for this group of younger, engaged people to suddenly have a platform and find an audience eager for the kind of radioactive-to-legacy-media takes like "why can't we even ask for universal healthcare anymore without being infantilized?" or "unions help workers".

and their constant takedowns of these sniveling, institutionally inbred "contributors" in the press that are always receiving a platform to tell us all that we should be grateful for our scraps, to stop whining about the cost of empire, and to embrace the latest focus grouped push poll that says everything is fine and there's no alternative to the latest degradation being foisted upon us by billionaires.

it was eye opening to learn how terrible all these people were, how dogshit wrong they had been their whole lives about everything, only to be recycled over and over in editorial rooms and given a professionally cleaned slate.

For me, their best contribution has been strong anti-imperialist takes all the way up to "give Iran a nuke." You could occasionally find support for left-ish domestic policies without straying too far from the mainstream -- it's anti-imperialism that was banished to the fringes.

That and their actual positions on Venezuela (except for platforming Mamdani, but I am directly blaming Will for that one), China, and Russia has always been good. It's not just a general anti-war stance.

In the recent episode with Matt, he sounded almost back to form. That was nice to hear.

He sounded great last ep. Happy for him that he’s making progress.

I still do; they fell off during covid, but that was a tough time for just about everyone. I am really appreciating their latest spate of shows. Truly top tier.

I actually listened to it for the first time the other day, even though I've been around here since the subreddit days lol. It's good.

been a consistent listener since 2019 to pad my commutes. they hit a slump in the Brandon years that was furthered by Matt being out of commission, but they've been putting it back together this year IMO. Doesn't seem as checked out as it was in the past some years. Matt was great last episode and he seems to be recovering well, it's a delight to hear him on the pod more often lately

hilldawg should launch her 28 run at the anniversary show. bring things full circle.

If it's true Matt is close to getting back to his old form, I might start listening to it again.
