Just get a swastika tattoo right next to it so that people can see the difference between the two.

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 53 points 2 weeks ago

Now, that's using 100% of your brain.

"I thought it was a swastika."

"I thought you had a brain and functioning eyes."

I'm great at making friends.

[–] Scubus@sh.itjust.works 12 points 2 weeks ago

Thank god im not the only one

[–] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 6 points 2 weeks ago

Who wants to be friends with people that can't think or play portal? Na, nothing wrong with you.

[–] A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That was my first thought. Use it as a filter:

Maybe it's a conversation starter.
Maybe it's an intelligence test for the person asking.

Reminds me of those nazis that aren't even able to draw one properly.

Add a blue portal below it with a person coming out who doesn't look at all like a swastika, maybe?

[–] 13igTyme@piefed.social 29 points 2 weeks ago (15 children)

Should be the other side of the neck

[–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 41 points 2 weeks ago

My guess is thats exactly what they have right now

[–] zewm@lemmy.world 21 points 2 weeks ago

Except that if someone only sees the one side it doesn’t help the problem.

A blue portal instead of an orange portal would've gone a long way here

Could be worse. She could have got a Final Fantasy Cactuar tattoo.

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 49 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Oh man, I looked some up out of curiosity and you're right. I'd do a double-take if I saw them in the wild.

Was also going to mention this. As much as I think cactuar is a fun monster, I will never be able to bring myself to get merch of them, because of that shape.

[–] CaptPretentious@lemmy.world 22 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Don't cover it up. Didn't touch it up. Turn to the person and judge them for not knowing what a swastika looks like and be fine with it. We should not cater to people's stupidity or ignorance.

[–] ichwillhierraus@feddit.org 5 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

This!

What kind of people mistakes that with a swastika ?

This is just an indicator for people who don't think before they speak. Because if you do, you'd realize that it looks nothing like a swastika. Maybe your brain got duped (hopefully only for a moment) by an abundance of images like this:

Which, incidentally, means NO nazis.

[–] mathemachristian@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 weeks ago

Me trying to non-chalantly ascertain if the lady next to me on the bus is a nazi or not

peripheral vision is not very clear and I can certainly see why people would do a double take. And if it were me, I'd rather that people don't need to do a double take to see if I'm nazi or not.

[–] hungryphrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 weeks ago

If you see it only by a quick glance or from far away, or have poor vision, it's pretty easy to mistake it for a swastika.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 15 points 2 weeks ago

Outline the orange circle properly. Black line will ytterly change the visual

[–] Sir_Simon_Spamalot@lemmy.world 15 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Just write "NOT SWASTIKA" next to it.

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago

Whoops, your hair moved and has been covering the "not" for most of the day.

[–] hayvan@piefed.world 14 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Aww man, it's a cool idea, just badly executed.

[–] SchmidtGenetics@lemmy.world 37 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

That’s just what the guy looks like though.

I wouldn't even say badly executed as it looks exactly as it should for portal.

[–] owenfromcanada@lemmy.ca 13 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

For the good of all of us
except the ones who are dead

[–] elephantium@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

But there's no sense crying over every mistake...

[–] exaybachae@startrek.website 13 points 2 weeks ago

Just change the ring to blue so it stand out more.

Make the portal more saturated and cover up the back lower leg with it.

[–] knotRyder@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 weeks ago

I'm assuming you have the blue circle on the other side of your neck try to make the orange one more orange

Blue portal instead?

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

I’d use it as an intelligence filter. If you can’t tell the difference you are a moron and unworthy of me talking to you 😀

[–] notsosure@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 weeks ago

Grow a bigger ear.

[–] Steamymoomilk@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 weeks ago

She wasnt thinking with portals

[–] Danarchy@lemmy.nz 4 points 2 weeks ago

3 arrows down and to the left

That song is stuck in my head for 2 days.

[–] libre_warrior@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 weeks ago

Perhaps you should put a blue portal on your cheek?

[–] olenkoVD@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 weeks ago

The funniest thing about this is the post title IMO

[–] fallaciousBasis@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

LMAO. The amount of replies giving advice...

[–] kamenlady@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Can't kill the instinct to come to rescue in such a tragic case
