Zionism, in its essence, doesn’t have fuck to do with the suffering of the Palestinian people

You fucking what when

[–] cisco@hexbear.net 23 points 2 days ago

Lol the founders of Zionism believed they were superior to other Jews because they were European

[–] kittenzrulz123@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Jewish person here, I give everyone here permission to be antizionist. Death to the imperialists and reaction :3

[–] BountifulEggnog@hexbear.net 28 points 2 days ago

Nazism is purely an ayrian concept created by ayrians, for ayrians. If someone's anti-nazi, it should be an ayrian.

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 31 points 2 days ago (6 children)

Using the word "goy" instantly throws up red flags for me, that term is pretty much solely used by antisemites.

[–] ThermonuclearHoxha@hexbear.net 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's amazing how thanks to Zionism, a phenomenal amount of Jewish people are actually antisemitic.

[–] JustSo@hexbear.net 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Your point is well made.

~(Zionism~ ~is~ ~antisemitic~ ~though.~ ~Not~ ~that~ ~it~ ~is~ ~the~ ~issue~ ~of~ ~concern~ ~at~ ~the~ ~moment.)~

[–] ThermonuclearHoxha@hexbear.net 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

(Yes, that was actually my point, that by virtue of being antisemitic, many Jews have embraced Zionism and thus antisemitism. I figure on Hexbear it goes without saying that all Zionists, Jewish or not, fall under that category.)

It also gets used by genuine Jewish supremacists (e.g. Epstein used it).

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 18 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Yeah that and the trans flag background make this smell like bait but who the fuck knows

[–] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

who the fuck knows

There's vegan zionists; Israel is just a giant onion bit

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 6 points 2 days ago

Yeah, only had to deal with 2 iSSraeli losers today who came over to try to start shit at our local weekly protest against the genocide but I've seen almost all the different kinds of zionists at this point after years of this

[–] BattleshipPokemon@hexbear.net 11 points 2 days ago

Ngl I've talked to german trans zionists who speak exactly like this and take pains to emphasise that comparing their historical trauma metted out by their nation to the horrible trauma metted out by the country they think they have a right to is completely insensitive and a non-jew would never understand. Plus a healthy serving of "hamas would throw me off a building (from 4,000km away) so all their kids need to die".

[–] puppygirlpets@hexbear.net 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

it's a jewish supremacist slur for non-jews

Not really. Goy is just an informal synonym for Gentile. ‘Shegetz’ and ‘shiksa’ are actual slurs for Gentiles.

[–] JustSo@hexbear.net 10 points 2 days ago

Yeah I was in a relationship with a Jewish person for 7 years and never heard them or their extended family or Jewish friends refer to "goys" ever.

Mind you they were just normal people so I suppose it wouldn't really come up in conversation.

[–] Flyberius@hexbear.net 10 points 2 days ago

Yeah. It's like when I hear wizards refer to non-magic folk as muggles. Complete red flag for me.

[–] WhyEssEff@hexbear.net 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

okay then, as another Jew I reverse that decision. what now

[–] WhyEssEff@hexbear.net 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

also indigeneity only matters insofar as it exists as a colonial relationship. even if 'Jews' (all? a majority of them? a plurality of them?) descend from ancient Levantines, the reality is that of you settling a place that is/was actively lived in by another people, forcing them out of that land and subjugating them.

It's like the "reverse racism" argument. It simply does not matter or harm beyond the level of individual prejudice. The primary harm of racism comes from the fact that it exists as a social structure that is propagated to systematically reinforce socioeconomic hierarchy and create 'internal enemies' for the insecure and/or downwardly-mobile whites to blame instead of the bourgeoisie. Similarly, colonizer's 'indigeneity' does not fundamentally matter because it does not make them colonized.

[–] WhyEssEff@hexbear.net 6 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

furthermore, Zionism, in essence, is undeniably the suffering of the Palestinian people! Zionism as a basic idea is the colonization of the place where Palestinians are living. How do you create a Jewish state in a land populated primarily by Muslims? What is this 'Zionism' you have created in your mind?

Went to this person's tumblr trying to find the posts and I think they deleted them but it's still just wall to wall zionist posting in tumblr phrasing and The Amazing Digital Circus reblogs

Oh and that fake Chinese runaway dog story lol

[–] RedDawn@hexbear.net 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The Amazing Digital Circus

Are there people into that show? I watched the whole thing on Netflix and the only thing I can remember about it is thinking how forgettable it all was.

[–] WellTheresYourCobbler@hexbear.net 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)
[–] RedDawn@hexbear.net 3 points 2 days ago

I’m not hating, but I literally don’t remember it, I would have to watch it again to even remember what the bubble is.

[–] tacosanonymous@mander.xyz 14 points 2 days ago

This was so heinous that I don’t think I can ever use the joke, “thank you for coming to my Ted talk” ever again.

[–] TraschcanOfIdeology@hexbear.net 15 points 2 days ago

Standpoint theory was such a monkey's paw move.

Tumblr was a mistake

[–] infuziSporg@hexbear.net 2 points 2 days ago

I recently learned that "non-Zionism" is a thing that some Jews identify by, but this is certainly not the same thing.
