the US population has to be the most docile and subservient in the world, there's no fucking way 😭

[–] iByteABit@hexbear.net 21 points 1 week ago

They literally can't even larp in Minecraft that they can do anything of importance at resisting fascism, not even like a "punch nazis" PvP event or something, even their larp session has to be a civil obedient slave march

I bet my ass they're going to be waving Ukraine banners, both sidesing the Iran war, and calling Trump a Russian

[–] FALGSConaut@hexbear.net 39 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Lmfao doing a "in Minecraft" bit but for nonviolent protest is so fucking funny, americans are so cooked

[–] iByteABit@hexbear.net 21 points 1 week ago

and it's not even a bit lmfao

critical support for making "in minecraft" safe to use again

[–] built_on_hope@hexbear.net 35 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I was invited to a β€œNo Kings” protest except it was in Canada so they called it β€œNo Tyrants” because we have a king….. lmao

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Liberals get extremely offended when I say we should kill the royal family of a given country. It's like, do you not even understand your own liberal history??

[–] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's crazy to think there was once a volunteer-legion of liberals lol

That was when liberalism was revolutionary. Since then it has won, solidified its rule and turned into a thoroughly conservative ideology.

[–] SpookyBogMonster@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

See, I'm pretty "go where the masses are" about No Kings, but I just can't take the Canadian rebrand seriously lmao

[–] built_on_hope@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

Yeah same. It’s the most infuriatingly milquetoast Canadian β€œcompromise” ever. Right up there with β€œyou can advertise medicines but not say what they do in the advert”. Deeply unserious country

Really stretching the definition of the word "action" there

>next generation

>almost all of them were part of the 2024 "generation"

>youngest person listed is probably like 53

AOC is in her 30s but it's not like the Dems are ever gonna let her have real power

[–] Self_Sealing_Stem_Bolt@hexbear.net 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why wouldnt the cia want one of their own in the oval office, again? Its not like shes actually progressive, its to lure in ignorant libs and neuter their revolutionary energy.

[–] haxboar@hexbear.net 12 points 1 week ago

No, but she plays a progressive on TV. If she were to actually have a chance at passing progressive policies, the mask would have to come off.

[–] Sneakytrickyyy@hexbear.net 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Even if they do fuck is she gonna do, put her on the pile with Bernard and the rest of the useless liberal parasites social-democracy

There's people like Zizek who think that it's good the Conservative (like trump) wins, because it shows how evil they are. I think that's wrong. The Correct approach is electing a lib and forcing them into a checkmate where they either act or self-sabotage. Of course the obvious problem with my proposition is that the moment the Lib is elected they'd be smart enough to give people treats and they'd stop pushing them, so it'd preserve the statue quo.

Honestly I'm not smart enough to figure out what to do here. I really hope someone out there is. It's easy to say "Just make your own party" but then why am I not doing it?

[–] Sneakytrickyyy@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Push them into acting!? What? How is that possible? I don't think it's realistic.

These people know neither shame, nor embarrassment, nor obligation to grow a spine and stand up for anything.

Why? They get paid either way, win or lose it doesn't matter, the American people are suckers who fall for the same trick again and again, like a broken record, like a bad joke that's ran its course, and it's not funny, it's fucking appalling, it's sad.

Even if the democrats shit the bed, like they have, many times in fact, people will still fall for the same tricks.

stress

They've been pretty consistently self-sabotaging, it's how Trump won in the first place.

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 7 points 1 week ago

it might be advantageous for us long term to tell libs we support her in the primary to maximize the damage the party does to itself by crushing her faction

[–] Assian_Candor@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago

Rahm Emmanuel looking like he sleeps in a coffin

Behold the next generation

[–] MiraculousMM@hexbear.net 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

All these people suck obvs but what anyone still sees in the charisma black hole that is pete is beyond me. I had lib friends in 2020 who were like "yeah I like Buttigieg he has good things to say!" and I couldn't roll my eyes hard enough

[–] Self_Sealing_Stem_Bolt@hexbear.net 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"yeah I like Buttigieg he has good things to say!"

Did they give any examples?

[–] poppy_apocalypse@hexbear.net 12 points 1 week ago

Medicare for all who want it. But then he found out everyone wanted it, so he retracted the good thing he said.

[–] Runcible@hexbear.net 18 points 1 week ago (2 children)

What could the point of virtual protest even be? Even makes it easier to identify the typical participant if you had any interest in doing so while ensuring that it isn't visible let alone impactful to anyone who doesn't already agree with you.

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

there are virtual protests that actually might accomplish something, like flooding anti-trans tip forms with garbage data, poisoning databases, things that stay on the legal side of a ddos attack.

i don't know how a bunch of people playing minecraft at the same time would even accomplish networking or recruitment, as some comrades have reported their local PSL or DSA making marginal gains out of these lib parades.

[–] MayoPete@hexbear.net 9 points 1 week ago

Right... people are so afraid of violence while the right revels in it.

You're right about marginal gains. I was there, handed out a ton of flyers and had lots os short organizing conversations and maybe some of the people we reached will show up at the 101 next week and learn something about Socialism. Or they will just keep putting frogs on their signs...

[–] vovchik_ilich@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

Libs believe that when 3.5% of the population protests there's an automatic change of government, so by trying to get more people to "protest", they expect a sudden government change.

[–] moss_icon@hexbear.net 15 points 1 week ago

I’ve honestly ran out of jokes about this shit.

[–] SmithrunHills@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago

Xi, stop fucking around and just humiliate the YanKKKee KKKlowns already niko-cocktail

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 13 points 1 week ago

You famously vote the zombies and creepers out in minecraft

[–] Dessa@hexbear.net 12 points 1 week ago

This is not what I meant by "in minecraft!"

[–] LadyCajAsca@hexbear.net 11 points 1 week ago

"yeah the Minecraft revolution will succeed! umm.. we will.. play Minecraft virtually, non-violently, and.. protest this kingly injustice!"

at this point it's more of an invitation to play on a Minecraft SMP than any political action..

[–] Athena5898@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago

I was actually impressed with our local no kings. They actually had some mutal aid stuff and called it a community event instead of a protest. Also talks about local issues.

But based off the pics I've seen, a lot of others have a long way to go

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago

I know we had a big ol' struggle session over no kings the first time, and I don't want to bring it back up and make everyone fight again, but I will say I HIGHLY dislike these "protests" and the big ol' waste of time they are.

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"See you in the mines." Yeah, when we're all in a fucking forced labor camp no-i-in-pezza

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

the good news is it'll still probably be a virtual mine. bad new is we're gonna be mining for crypto

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

That's what they tell you to make it easier to get on the transport. We'll die digging up lithium for the next generation cyber truck, unfortunately.

[–] Sneakytrickyyy@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

You know in your heart of hearts what must be done....

maybe-later-honey pika-pickaxe

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago
