I've always liked the idea of the opposite. I have a character sheet somewhere for a concept of a warlock who thinks she's a paladin, but now I think it'd be funny to do a warlock who thinks they are a sorcerer with a patron who is also unaware of them. No one knows how anything is working but it is so we're going with it.

This would be like becoming aware of a single bacteria in your gut. Even if you notice it why would you care?

One of the guys I play with was playing this build. He went big, it got his patrons attention and, well, Raki suddenly disappeared.

Playing a goolock in a campaign right now. Got the direct attention of my patron after finding an artifact related to them. Now I have a writhing tentacle-like appendage where my left arm used to be.
