Speaking your mind is good to filter the people you surround yourself with. :) just be careful with your job or if speaking your mind can bring you in serious jeopardy (e.g. talking to homo-/transphobic parents about certain stuff while you rely on them providing you housing)

All the time lol, my brain does not keep up with my mouth at all.
Last week we were talking about how the Germans are good at making bread, and I said "yeah they have some experience putting things in ovens". There might have been an audible gasp.
Never had one.

Without going into much detail, my workplace sells a product that's makes use of an industrial computer that has two regular off the shelf hard drives in it. For some reason both hard drives are similar, but were sourced from different manufacturers. We got a notification from the provider that manufacturer B would cease production and proposed us to use two drives from manufacturer A instead.
I had the genius idea of giving my two cents and suggesting we accept as it will work, they are just standard hard drives after all.
Now I became the hard drive expert at work, got dragged into endless meetings and being asked the dumbest of questions regarding this change. It's been a year and the change hasn't been approved by higher ups yet.
Can you 'lean into it?'
Sounds like a good way to pad your resume and give yourself all kinds of management credentials.

Always at my job.
My manager is a micromanager and I don't mesh well with a lot of the ways we do things. So I'll try to start a project to make things better for me and I'll mention it or ask if I should continue when we meet. Every single time I get told no after some very fake deliberating from my manager.
I really really need to learn to keep my mouth shut and just do the thing that's going to help me

My wifes sister had their first baby, and I had no knowledge what-so-ever about babies at the time. She was born with some weird "wrinkely"-ears, which I just thought were normal after they were born, a lot looks funny untill they grow a bit. So it just came out of my mouth, that I thought she "looked like a little mma-warrior with those funny ears". Not my proudest moment, since everyone at the dinner table just looked at me at said: "Sometimes you should just shut up bro.." Didn't know it would follow their daughter for life though, then I would ofc not had made fun of it.
Iβve learned that Iβll never learn.
When I was asked my by colleagues how I did on an exam and told how I was allowed to take it then they went and asked administration about this using my nameβ¦ wonβt trust colleagues again.
