Slop posts go in c/slop. Don't post low-hanging fruit here.
Good for them. Whenever anyone gripes about them, Hasan or any other left-wing media figures making a lot of money, all I can think is "it's cool that anyone is doing well, I would like to see more of us across all industries prosper."
The day we all became dry
Good for them! I wouldn't be here if I hadn't been spending an unhealthy amount of time lurking on r/politics circa 2017 and hearing people talk about Chapo Trap House in the comments occasionally. Sometimes a lib accusing a poster of coming from there, more often a CTH poster finding someone in the comments and telling them they'd find a like minded community.
Same. /r/CTH getting x-posted into my feed is what exposed me to the concept of socialism and communism. I was a Bernie-style lib up until the second half of 2019 when I realized you could go further left, and that communism wasn't evil.

I have never watched a chapotraphouse episode nerds
What the fuck is a chapotraphouse?
Chapo Trap House is a podcast on the media, power, PR and the history of bullshit. It is hosted by Nima Shirazi and Adam Johnson
Podcast? What do you mean podcast?

Who tf was playing club penguin 10 years ago? Was it some kind of reboot of it? That shit was part of my childhood like 20 years ago. Talk about feeling old
It lasted from 2005-2017, I got into it as a 5yo in 2011 (it was the first time I ever actively used a computer) and up thru 2016 I used the living room laptop pretty much almost exclusively for that (and for toontown until it got shut down), I even had all the DS games to boot
I don't know! I never played it, I played Habbo Hotel once when I was a kid though so I just assume it was like that? I was more a Neopets kid.
Maybe it was popular for longer than you thought, idk lol.
What does this have to do with Citations Needed?
A very long running bit from the old CTH subreddit. The fanbase grew more developed in theory and in some cases practice (Matt is still the GOAT) and it became a running gag to refer to the sub as the official Citations Needed subreddit and pretending not to know anything about the podcast and it carried over to here.
Yeah lol I was doing the bit
lmao of course.

You folks are weird
Huh, weird that theyβre claiming itβs been 10 years, I could have sworn the first episode was Jul 12, 2017.
oh shit they made a hexbear podcast !
