Fuck AI

"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

We don't know who struck first, us or them. But we do know it was us that scorched the sky. At the time, they were dependent on solar power. It was believed they would be unable to survive without an energy source as abundant as the sun.

There's nothing special about imaginary "AI".

This the purpose of all technology under capitalism.

There are two main reasons I can think of for removing the human from the equation.

With a human there is accountability. War crime perpetrators might never receive a day of justice.

Humans can exercise choice.

Only a matter of time before they are turned on citizens. Foreign or domestic.

Always has been. Both outside and within the imperial core.

Ah yes, what a great way to advertise your autonomous murder drones... By using a picture of a manned vehicle.

Yeah, this is big part of how the "AI" grift works.

They take some ancient technology like autopilot, then call it "AI".

In fact the whole field of "AI" is just ancient math with bigger computers, more pollution, more grifting, etc.

It's really funny how sci fi authors were able to accurately predict what would go wrong since at least the 1950s. https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/29579

Wait, its rainbows! It's turning people in little tiny gay pieces. Can it just turn them gay without the obliteration part?
