What's your source for that subtext? Nvidia has no relation in the creation of postgres

Source: good ol' reliable Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PostgreSQL

I never knew that. I feel just a bit bad for loving Postgres now...

It's not true.

But if it was, it wouldn't be a reason to dislike Postgres. Academic AI research in the '90s is a far cry from commercial AI companies today.

OP is just kidding btw. Postgres has been around since the 90s before Nvidia had even released NV3 / RIVA 128.

I was thinking of the Nvidia connection. I definitely wouldn't trust a database written by an AI!

Reminder that text does not convey sarcasm. In this world where it's so wasy to cobble up a lie and spread it, it's important to denote properly what stuff is intended to be a joke, eg.: use the or /s tag.

I heard Postgres was originally created in 1966 by Doug Englebart to store vectors for early mouse designs.

True! Your learn something new everyday. I ran the following SQL query on chat gpt and got,

SELECT databases FROM public WHERE created_for = '%mouse%'

Certainly! Doug originally tried storing mice as vectors, but the blood was unmanageable, so he stored them in Postgres circa 1966. Let me know how else I can help!
