Put plainly, Israel is aligning itself with an authoritarian wave sweeping Europe to legitimise its policies of genocidal warfare and democratic erosion, while Europe’s far right increasingly becomes normalised and mainstream.

How the turntables...

[–] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 9 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

They love it. Part of what Israel does is encourage antisemitism abroad in order to demonstrate the necessity of Zionism. Confront this wherever you see it. Especially when it is couched as anti-Israel, but uses anti-Jew language. Don't let them get away with it. Anti-Nazi, anti-zionist, ant-fascist. Hold the line.

[–] axx@slrpnk.net 5 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

But also, simply, Israel is run by a far right governement.

[–] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 2 points 19 hours ago

Yes, but on it's face it should still be odd that they'd support actual antisemites. Nationalists don't always get along with other nationalists.

A far right government that faces only very token opposition in any Western country because anti-muslim sentiment and perpetual imagined jewish victimization has been propogandized and weaponized into society for decades by these arsehole extremist zionists. And the non extremists largely let them get away with it when they also benefit.

After god know how many movies about the holocaust, and how many movies painting every middle eastern person as a suicide bomber religious zealot, who wants to be the one to be even accused of being an antisemite? We've all been trained that thats poison-- even when its a nonsense accusation.

Fascists of a feather flock together. Times are going to get really bad 65 million people died the last time we let fascism rise on a global scale

The Israeli Likud party is far right. The Russians and Israelis are supporting right wing European parties filled with fucking neo-Nazis.

Fascists like other Fascists?

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 36 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Fascists support other fascists...

It's why fascism anywhere is a problem for people everywhere.

They'll always try to prop up like minded people, because if there's only one fascist government everyone pays attention to them.

If there's 5-6 all doing shit, it's hard for everyone else to unify against it.

[–] gibmiser@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Its backliding into barbarism and tribal us vs them societies

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Yeah I think that's more apropos.

Do they ever wonder if they might be the badguys, when they're going to a meeting about how to put ultranationalists in charge of Germany?

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 1 points 19 hours ago

"Why the lady in a white dress and a veil and the guy in a suit leaving a church are joining hands"

They're an ethno-Fascist state (same type as the one of the NAZIs: Fascism but anchored of ethnic-superiority instead of on "mere" nationalism, hence far more dehumanizing of the "other" which translates into far more and more extreme violence against those they call "vermin") so of course they love Fascists in general.

The main ideological difference between Zionist Israel and the last great ethno-Fascist country - NAZI Germany - is that the ethnic-group they see as "vermin" is Muslims rather than Jews and Roma, so those are who they want to push other Fascist groups to hate (which they already do up to a point thanks to decades of islamophobic racist propaganda from America, almost certainly influenced by Israel).

Most of Israel's actions suddently make total sense if you look at them as a modern variant of NAZIs with different ubermenschen and untermenschen.

Fascists stick together.

Nazis of a feather flock together

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 3 points 1 day ago

Because Israel is far right? Is this a trick question?

[–] Bakkoda@lemmy.world 1 points 21 hours ago

"Why Europes far right is joining with Israel."

GTFO with your bullshit

Because they are no different to Nazis

[–] bassomitron@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago (2 children)

A part of me thinks the rise of extreme nationalism is fueled by climate change. We're already seeing issues with access to clean drinking water around the world. Hell, in 2025, Mexico wasn't able to honor their end of the water trade treaty with the US for the first time since the treaty was created in the 1940s, which helped the nazis in charge here justify refusing to send water to Mexico. https://www.ecoticias.com/en/usa-denies-mexico-water-1944-treaty/12590/

It's only going to get worse. Resources are drying up, and when countries face issues supplying clean water and food, they tend to gravitate towards barbarism and tribalism. In my opinion, this is just the tip of the iceberg, unfortunately.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago

It’s fueled by the pedofile parasite class reestablishing their parasitic capitalist system

[–] Aceticon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Another possibility is the Economic supercycle which has a period of around a century, in which we are now at or near the low-point (basically the maximum inequality point when growth - not just Economic but actually as a progression of quality of life - is at a minimum whilst non-productive rentierism is at a maximum).

It makes sense that the people with the most power - which in Capitalism are the moneyed classes - at this point would be investing heavilly in political forces which blame outsider for the pain and loss of faith in the future that most people are feeling in order to avoid the public backlash against their own misuse of power for pillaging.

This shit isn't just Economic, but also Social and the elites managing the last part would explain all manner of things done in the last decade or two, from the rise of the Far-Right to increasing political corruption and authoritarianism (starting with widespread civil society surveillance, which is now increasing, as well as increasing cracking down on demonstration) in supposedly Democratic nations.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago

Because they’ve always been fascists?

[–] Lodespawn@aussie.zone 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I wonder if there's some kind of doctrine devised by the early modern Israeli government that basically amounts to the only way to not let Jewish people be at the bottom of the boot again is to be the boot, and the Israelis have just been quietly working to emulate the Nazis as per that doctrine ever since?

Or its the classic victim/abuser cycle but replicated on a nation scale.

Or just arseholes being arseholes.

Why not all three?

[–] yeather@lemmy.ca 1 points 16 hours ago

Zionism itself essentially boiled down to using the tragedies faced by jews in order to borrow the boot of western nations until they had one of their own. It’s why the next most likely new homeland for jews after Israel was going to be the Nazi suggestion of Madagascar or the Italian suggestion of Ethiopia or Libya. It’s easy to oppress and make such compromises when the most strict way of teaching your religion states everyone besides you has no soul and you are going to divinely rule over them someday anyway.

[–] kokesh@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

Because they are also nazis?

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 0 points 21 hours ago

insert drive past meme with Israel and Nazis

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Just like all the billionaires, fuckers unite under one regarded tent

because they always have been?

[–] notsure@fedia.io 5 points 1 day ago

Why do we look at history? Why do we learn about the atrocities of the past committed for the benefit of the few? This such a bullshit headline for an article that basically cut-and-pasted news from the 1930s. I'm sick of journalism becoming one giant handjob of, "Check this out."
