In a stunning admission, Leavitt told Bartiromo that mandatory conscription – not seen since the Vietnam War – had not been ruled out by her boss.

Lol. I dare them to make me fight for Israel.

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 10 points 4 hours ago

The motherfucking racist pedo chicken shit draft dodger is seriously considering military conscription, eh. Every single MAGA fuck should be lining up at the US Army Recruiting Office and signing the dotted line for 11B (Infantry).

[–] brachiosaurus@mander.xyz 6 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

Why on earth would the US government risk a public outrage when they can just keep the system as it is and have poor people enlist for money?

[–] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 hours ago

Fascism is capitalism in decay. As capitalism "runs out of runway", the capitalists start stripping the country for parts. In order to distract people/tamp down revolutionary anger, and squeeze the last profits, they'll reorient society towards total war. War at home and abroad.

[–] FrostyTheDoo@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago

Probably because they're planning to start more wars than they have bodies of poor people to cover

Plus, if raping children doesn't generate enough public outrage to create consequences, they know they have a green light to say or do anything they want

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago

Sadly, we all have "bone spurs", sorry my guy

[–] zenitsu@sh.itjust.works 13 points 6 hours ago

Not ruling anything out is their favorite bait, just another way to flood the zone with shit.

[–] dejected_warp_core@lemmy.world 18 points 8 hours ago

Yup. It's easy to spot when "news" fits these criteria:

  1. Evokes emotional response
  2. Too dangerous to ignore
  3. Devoid of any proof of something that is actually happening or going to happen
  4. Plausible

The key here is that it's noise designed to wear you out by provoking hypothetical scenarios in your head. This is intended to saturate the minds of the most dangerous opposition of all: The smart and educated. It'll go flying right over the heads of everyone else, but they have other tactics for that.

[–] gabbath@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

It also doesn't matter if they say they ruled it out and then do it anyway. Their cult worships them no matter what. I just saw a woman whose kid was murdered by ICE and she still supports Trump. Also his fans love the Iran war. The propaganda doesn't even matter anymore, which is why it's so sloppy and lazy, because their base will eat it up no matter what. They're have complete faith in Trump. Hell, they'll make up their own propaganda in their heads at this point, justifying literally anything.

President Bonespurs thinks conscription is a good idea, eh?

[–] NannerBanner@literature.cafe 25 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

That'll be fun. If I know I'm going to die overseas, with my skin peeled off or bones shattered, or I can die at home with a few bullet holes, I know which one I'll be choosing. Easy enough to make sure bullet holes magically appear in assholes, as well.

Luckily it's all hypothetical for me. Too old, too sick, and too busy not even having a permanent address :/

[–] mirshafie@europe.pub 7 points 8 hours ago

Fuck man. I wish the best for you. The American people deserve so much better than this. From an Iranian.

Fragging is BACK on the menu boys!

I say this as a veteran and an officer.

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

Same here and I entered during the late 1980's. In our ranks, we had plenty of Vietnam War NCO's, with CIB's, calmy explaining to us young cadets/officers what happened to the shitty leadership. Big reason why I do not to fuck with people and their lives when the shit is serious.

[–] TheHighRoad@lemmy.world 25 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

It's a good thing they have all of our voting data and will be able to target conscription on those they don't like, which is exactly why and how they would do this.

[–] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

I'd also bet that they will make sure to only draft those who don't have a lot of firearms. Makes it easier to drag them out of their house.

[–] IphtashuFitz@lemmy.world 7 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

He’ll probably figure out some way to target blue states only.

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

Indeed and that is how the fuck Vlad selects conscripts for his shitty war.

[–] cmbabul@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago

He’s really familiar with draft dodging so he won’t be surprised when the majority tells him to fuck right off

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago
[–] cmbabul@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago

I’m old enough to where if I get called things had to have somehow gotten even more terrible. If it comes to that they can lick my fucking taint. I’m not going to war even if the put a rifle in my mouth.

The admin is fully hallucinating if the think there ain’t a bunch of folks like me that would much rather forget their life than fight for this admin.

[–] PissingIntoTheWind@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago

Thank god I’ve aged out of military service and the draft. Plus I’m disabled. So have fun maga fucks!

[–] merdaverse@lemmy.zip 19 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Why the fuck would anyone want to go fight on the other side of the globe in an imperial war of aggression, when they can use the same energy to fight their fascist government at home?

[–] BanMe@lemmy.world 7 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Because fuck the libtards? Less vehement than it was before but many of them still see the liberal cause as weak, unmasculine, ineffective, and see the conservative cause as the opposite. People - especially young insecure men - want to identify with Strong Daddy Trump. We can't lose sight of that, doing so is why we lost a generation of young men entirely.

FIFA Peace Prize laureate former Cadet Bonespurs will maintain peace by bringing back the draft. I hope all the fighting age Z/A males have exactly the life they voted for.

[–] pupperdreams@lemmy.world 0 points 3 hours ago

Gen alpha? The oldest gen a just started high school. So yeah I hope those voting gen a kids really get what they deserve.

I also have to speak on the matter of gen z. As an older gen z male (old enough that under current rules I can't be drafted) I know the data holds that my demografic swung right in 2024. Not by as much as some act. But substantially enough to not ignore it. But I don't know very many right wingers in my age group, so its hard to feel like something wasn't missed. I would believe it if someone said that people my age were so far left that they refused to vote blue and that cost the election, but I can't find any evidence of that.turnout was a bit lower generation wide, but not enough among men to make the argument that only the right wing men voted, unless there was a considerable surge among right wing youth turnout as well as a duo in turnout on the left for the same demographic.

But now I'm rambling. Either way, its hard not to see millenials turning on us as a betrayal even if we statistically deserve it. Growing up and seeing all the articles where millenials ruined this or that and always being able to clearly see that the fault was not on the young adults but the society and industries, if there was even anything wrong with the change anyway. And I think everyone felt that way, not just those of us who were left leaning.

And how I've had to drag some of the millenials I've known to see reason on trans issues and how they say the same things about me that people my parents age said about them it just really sinks in how cyclclical it all is and how no one tries to communicate on a level that actually breeds conversation. The brain sets as neroplasticity fades and now I am approximately who I will always be. And I hope I can look at gen alpha when they become adults and understand them, or at least try.

A lot of commanding officers are about to have accidents if they do that.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 10 points 11 hours ago

Yeah, I thought if anything, Vietnam tought the lesson that the draft is a terrible idea for overseas deployment.

Of course, learning from history is not exactly the style of this administration.
