Is markwayne going to be any better?

She was quickly replaced by almost-certain-to-be-just-as-bad Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma

That is what I thought...

He almost fought the conservative teamster president right?

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah. Doesn't seem like the type of guy to restore some semblance of law and order among the gestapo.

He's a POS but, that's a prerequisite for this administration.

She got a promotion. Nothing to celebrate him

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

I wouldn't call it a promotion at all. She's being sidelined pretty clearly.

This. She is representing the entire US at Trump's new Right wing Americas club(Shield of the Americas), made up of the right wing leaders of Central and South America, led by the US.

So she went from being secretary of the DHS for the USA, to being secretary of the DHS for two continents. She's probably getting paid more to do less.

I don't know, sounds suspiciously like a promotion...

Unless it’s into the sun, it doesn’t come close to meeting the crime

Anything to keep Epstein out of the news.

But, this is why they try to filibuster at every hearing, stall, answer questions with questions, and only push propaganda or talk in circles if they do flap their gums. As soon as they go off the script - they know they're done. He gave her a cushy demotion to keep her from talking so she's still on the payroll, and she gets to keep the 140 million she just stole. Just like he did with Ghislane at Club Fed. Additionally, she's been replaced by someone even more unhinged. I fail to see the positive side of this when considering all that. Keep protesting. Keep their fuckups in the news. Push them until they fumble like she did.

Honestly, I was a little surprised to see anything female in that Surplus Male police force. That is in no way a defense of Noem, but an observation of MAGA in general.

She was quickly replaced by almost-certain-to-be-just-as-bad Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma, but we can afford to enjoy a few rare moments of happiness over Noem’s downfall.

It’s unlikely Cricket factored into Trump’s decision today—it was probably the cumulative effect of Noem’s two-day humiliation by Congress, plus the way she botched Operation Metro Surge in Minneapolis and forced the administration to at least draw down if not remove her henchmen.

Cricket is the puppy she shot, which she cited as an example of leadership.

I wonder if The Don still likes to use his catchphrase from his former reality TV glory.
