Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Point a gun at armed guards, and you're going to have a bad day. Assuming, that is, that what they said is what actually happened. They may have lied and this is not what happened at all, and we'll never know. Cops have been known to do that, shocking, I know.

I trust nothing anyone says in that bloated orange liars orbit.

BREAKING NEWS:
This just in. The man who was shot by armed guards was actually not a man, or woman. But a 7 year old girl. Also the little girl wasn't shot, but strangled...about 2 decades ago, by someone with tiny, tiny hands. Local police are wondering why there was orange make up all over the remains.
When asked for a comment a spokesman said, "the president is clueless...about everything"

One of you will be a hero, one day. Keep trying.

Sniper rifles...

Now, obviously, I'm not mentioning sniper rifles for any other reason than to point out that they are rifles for sniping, and they are not to peel bananas with.
Or to stir your coffee with. They are just for shooting paper targets(😏😏) from afar. DO NOT STIR ANY BEVERAGES WITH A SNIPER RIFLES.

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Wait what? I thought they were to kill people like known nazi Donald Trump.

[–] billbasher@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (2 children)

That’s what the bananas are for

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 month ago

The potassium in the banana would immediately combust once it mixes with all those hamberders.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I'm afraid the white house is aware of bananas

Paid agitator

[–] Hapankaali@lemmy.world 24 points 1 month ago (3 children)

A shotgun and a fuel canister. What was the plan here exactly? Shoot all of the Secret Service, and burn the evidence? Start a fire and shoot at the ones fleeing the building?

[–] blattrules@lemmy.world 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This guy was clearly mentally unwell if that’s what he thought was going to do the job.

[–] IronBird@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

it's honestly surprises me how little thought goes into the average attempt at violence

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Is it surprising though? Those that put more thought into it choose not do to the violence.

[–] partofthevoice@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Those who put the most thought into it get an episode on some history channel show, though. (Looking at you, Cooper)

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yes our collective plan of doing nothing and letting a child rapist and murder start countless wars and do whatever Netanyahu wants is working out much better

[–] Hapankaali@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You guys could just, you know, remove him from office. Introduce a modern democratic system while you're at it. Might have to convince some of your countrymen it's a good idea.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 4 points 1 month ago

Oh geez. That means planning beyond the next quarter. Maybe even a five year plan.

What's more insane is imagine if he ran in with a gopro - and captured something. Would anythimg happen? Would Trump dismiss it all away with some rant about aliens? Would people care enough or buy into the distraction? Who knows. Oh well.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Only worthwhile if it was livestreamed. Otherwise the cam would never have existed.
