Fuck AI
"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"
A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.
AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.
I've been feeling randy lately. There's a ho corner only 50 meters away. But I'd need a car to show the girl I've got a place for us to do the deed. The car is ten kilometers away. How fast would I have to run to the car to beat my time just walking over to ho corner?
I side with the LLM, this is !fuckcars@lemmy.world now
I think the point is that AI is wasting all those resources and can't even work out that if one needs to wash ones car at the car wash, driving it there is required. Thousands of people are losing their jobs to AI when this is how smart it is. Fuck cars, yes - but also fuck AI.
to be fair it's not like it's a reasoning machine or anything, it's just like a version of the predictive text on your phone's keyboard but trained with more data.
AI absolutely can't replace most jobs, as employers are learning the hard way.
As a human, I hadn't even considered that the question would presume a car wash... I assumed you'd wash it. Y'know, with a bucket and sponge...?
This is why people are upset no one knows how to read anymore. Did you even read the title of the post? You didn't even have to click the link.
Oh. Yeah. I completely missed that. My bad.
The car wash is 50 meters away
So ... your driveway with the bucket and sponge is 50m away from your house?
It's a question posed to LLMs, so I thought the distance was chosen basically arbitrarily. Besides, it's not an unrealistic distance. Lots of houses don't have a driveway, and cars are parked along the street instead, for example.
So, I tried this on several models and the lighter ones didn’t get it. But, the “heavier” models did.
