It's a type of expanding broadhead. I'm not into bow hunting but I've seen other people use them. They're supposed to penetrate the hide and rib cage and then the blades expand to inflict as much damage as possible. Otherwise you might miss all the vital organs and watch your deer (or other game) high tail it off into the woods, never to be seen again.
What is this thing?

The part that fucks my head up is that it was found by my friends near a Mardi Gras parade, in D'Iberville Mississippi.
I wasn't there with them for the parade, but like hell, was someone planning something bad? 🤔🤷
Doubt it. I could throw a rock in any direction and probably hit a pickup truck with a couple of those in the center console. That's just how it is in the rural US.
Sigh, sad but true..
Deer have over run some places in the east and need to be culled by humans, since we killed off so many wolves and bigger predators.
Also meat has gotten too expensive for a lot of people in those same rural areas.
It’s sad on all fronts i guess, but I understand your point too.
People bow hunt deer in Mississippi, so it's not really out of place, other than someone dropped it.
I'll agree that it was unlikely. Someone probably had it in a jacket pocket or something they used when hunting last and it fell out. Sucks for them, that's probably not cheap.
Happened to kids I went to high school with. One guy I knew had to call out sick because he forgot he had a few boxes of ammo in the back of his truck from hunting over there weekend. Pulled in to school, saw the boxes, and realized he didn't have time to get home and back before lunch. So he just noped out rather than get in all the trouble.
Yes. This is clear evidence of a planned bow and arrow killing spree.
Oh! Duh-eye-ber-vil? Or maybe Die-ber-vil? Is that how it's pronounced?
At first I was getting angry at MS for having a Dilbertville.

Looks about right, but also looks like they're loaded backwards.. 🤷
If it works in either direction, this direction seems very deadly!
It really does look like its about equally dangerous either way.. ☠️
That is some mall ninja shit.
It is not. They're for increasing bleed out when hunting to prevent a wounded creature from wandering too far. They're expensive and help prevent animals from getting away.
No, this isn't mall ninja shit, this is truly a deadly weapon, more dangerous than a bullet even. I'm familiar with basic modern arrow heads, but this is different. This one, once it penetrates flesh (thankfully this one hasn't), then the wing blade parts flip around and hook into the target, and cannot be removed without ripping way more flesh.
It's a loose arrowhead. When it's not attached to a shaft and set on a bow, it's about as dangerous as any short, pointy bit of metal.
Loved watching vids of all the different types of expanding arrowheads you can use, the ballistics gelatine and slowmo really show the good ones from the bad since some just don't open up like they are supposed to.
