So this thread has shown a weird number of fucking Puritans on Lemmy but no answers to the question.
As far as I can tell, one of the main selling points of lemmy is actually the ability to filter out all NSFW communities, which is better than reddit where they conflate "nsfw for porn" with "nsfw for a swear word or scary topic in this text post."
If people want to express a dislike of porn or say "eh it's bad for you so stop browsing there" then I don't mind. Could just block them if it gets really excessive.
It's more like a few people loudly announce it and then get pelted with downvotes

From speaking with other instance admins it seems the head admin is not currently able to be contacted...
Bus factor strikes again.
feddit.de happening strikes again.
feddit.de went down when the server's disk ran full which corrupted the database, and by the time the admin (who was on a sabbatical) reacted, all backups had already been overwritten with the corrupted data.

Lemmynsfw admin here, partially my fault but mostly not.
The other admin owned the server and the domain, suddenly he stopped responding, I started getting concerned and shit you not before all this happened I was planning on making a backup the weekend AFTER the site went down. But of course that never happened. That's the part that's my fault, I should have been backing things up ages ago.
The server is down, and I had access to the server, but not the platform it's hosted on. One day the server just... turned off. Other admin isn't responding and I have no way to get the data from the site.
I have access to, but don't own the domain. So the plan now is to look into other hosting options, like the fedihost beta program, and spin up a Lemmy and/or piefed instance and redirect from the old domain to a new one I own. But yeah unfortunately it looks like the site as it was is dead :(

An admin in their matrix room explains they lack access to revive it. It'd been intermittently going down for a while.
Intermittently going down seems appropriate for a NSFW instance.
Cloudflare responds with error 521 to connection attempts.
Which means the server is refusing Cloudflare connection attempts.
And it's been like that for a while.
So it's shut off, broken, or not connected.
tl/dr: Server no worky
If you want to know more, the only one who can tell you is the instance admin.

Admin with server access went AWOL a bit ago, so they can't revive it
Same here - haven't been able to have a proper goon in over 4 days, and that's the only place where I source my material so...
Is it still down? Works fine for me.
