Same as cops. It's all just one big circle jerk so that us plebs think there will be justice when, in fact, there never will be.
On leave = paid vacation
The concept is sound. You get put on paid leave during the investigation. Once you're found guilty, then the punishment starts.
The actual practice is faulty, because they're never found guilty, even with overwhelming evidence.
Especially when most police 'leave' is paid admin leave. Ie vacation.
To be fair, prison is for after sentencing. Jail is for before sentencing.

Hey now. That would interfere with them living productive lives as ice agents one town over in a few weeks.
Not just them, their families. We want their families to be exposed to their friends and neighbors as being a household of ICE Apes. They need to be shunned and humiliated publicly, so when the next loser decides to sign up to be a paramilitary predator, his family will forbid it.
Unless they WANT him to go to some other part of the country, for a break from the domestic violence.

He wants to deescalate the media, not the violence. They want MORE violence, they just don't like the media coverage. The media has a bad attitude.
He will deescalate because he's the one that escalated in the first place. Much easier to un-fuck a situation when it's your penis.
Eh, I think it’s simpler than that. He’s just brazenly lying, and his only actual intention is to shuffle some people around to confuse and/or give (naive) people a semblance of hope, then will continue escalating.
Bingo, he still wants violence so he can impose Martial Law and suspend the Midterms. He's just taking a moment to let the dust settle a bit, then we'll be right back to Gestapo tactics.

If he wants to de-escalate, dismantle ICE, arrest Miller, Noem, Bondi, and all the agents involved in these shootings.
