Dont start a war of attrition with an unemployed person - sun tzu

The cat equates the situation to pushing chairs in under the table when not in use - you just pull them out to use them and think nothing of it. If the human ever chastised it for bunching up the rug it would be absolutely shocked that this is somehow a problem.

Long suffering cat. Every single day your dumbass husband fucks up his rug.

Why not just leave it?

My ex girlfriend had a roommate that wouldn't let their cat sit on his lap, because he figured the cat saw it as a sign of dominance. And it's like, what are you afraid is going to happen if the cat believes it's dominating you? What's at the end of this slippery slope for you? Are you afraid you're going to show up to your kitchen job and the boss is going to take you aside and say "look man, you did an alright job, but your cat showed up earlier and he's better at your job, so you're fired". And then you'll glance through that round porthole-esc kitchen window on those swinging kitchen doors and the cat will be in there flirting with your crush as he flambes some fish and shoots a wink at you?

Brother, if you're that concerned with the opinion of a cat, you really are being dominated, just not by the cat.

I was talking about the rug.

of course the cat is trying to kill him. or maybe her. probably both.

I’d be worried that leaving it would warp it after a while, so it won’t lay properly.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 6 points 11 hours ago

I also have a cat and I don’t get laid properly.

[–] Earthman_Jim@lemmy.zip 8 points 15 hours ago

Seems like an inevitably either way, but I could also see myself having an itch to straighten it to be honest.

Ah but it IS laying properly, with that special fold! Human just doesn't understand Art.

inb4 "this behaviour means your cat has bone cancer" or somesuch

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 6 points 11 hours ago

Plot twist, the husband has bone cancer.

[–] warm@kbin.earth 24 points 15 hours ago

They'll miss straightening it once the kitty has passed.

Any enrichment for the cat that keeps it from attacking you or destroying stuff.
