Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

So, the recipe.

Get a taco, hard shell one. Put icecream in it until full, toffee ripple works best Cover it in sprinkles of chocolate, mixed with praline if you can Freeze it solid again

Sorted!

Waffle Cone Taco?

I think I saw him perform on sesame street.

you did? that was a rough episode. pulled it from syndication after what cookie monster did to him on camera.

Remarkably easy to make. Get you a cheap waffle cone maker and a taco shaper.

(I like to use a waffle cone maker to make a bunch of chips, and then a bowl, and fill that bowl with cannoli dip. It’s a big hit at parties.)

gods I miss these silly lil treats. It's not even like they're easy to make yourself, you'd need to find custom waffle cone taco-shaped shells to even get started. I wish a supermarket chain would have stepped up with a knock-off. Aldi plz!

[–] sulgoth@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Waffle cone makers exist as do taco shell moulds. Waffle cones are floppy until they cool so you could absolutely make these things.

The rest is kinda make em how you like em I guess, I've never had these things.

$65 for six?? Huff my whole asshole, I could figure out how to make that shit at home for half the cost and actually produce em for less than a tenth, I reckon.

[–] radiouser@crazypeople.online 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Throught it was a joke. Whoever is paying $65 for 6 chocolate tacos needs to give their head a wobble.

It's not even for the right product, really.

They sell theirs as a cinnamon and ancho chili ice cream in a waffle cone shell, dipped in dark chocolate mixed with puffed quinoa with mango jalapeño and wildberry cinnamon sauce.

That sounds interesting as a menu item you get after a tex mex meal in a sit down restaurant, but it's a cheffed up overcomplication of the Choco Taco.

[–] Liz@midwest.social 8 points 1 week ago

They're definitely different. "Spicy" is not a word I would associate with a Choco Taco.

Anything NOT from a Taco Bell corporate?

that's a nice homage but the flavor profile's all wrong

I don't taco-bout you because I don't even know who you are

[–] will_steal_your_username@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

[–] FalschgeldFurkan@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

I wish I had tried one back when they were available in Germany. They're gone here too 😕

[–] Griffus@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

Is that a US style Baot-is knockoff?

[–] gmtom@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (2 children)

It always frustrates me because it doesnt rhyme but it acts like it does.

[–] jve@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Huh. I’ve only ever heard it pronounced “chock-oh tock-oh”

How do you pronounce it?

[–] gmtom@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Taco pronounced like

Tah-coh

As in like (Tan, Tally, Tattered, Tank, etc)

[–] AdrianTheFrog@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

i pronounce it like chalk-oh talk-oh
