/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Neat, that was even the exact same actor both times! Kirk Randolph Thatcher

Ha, and here he is with a boom box in spiderman. Nice easter egg.

The song played also had a sequel in that cameo. It goes from "I hate you" to "I still hate you"

He had so much awareness that he remembered something that happened to him in another timeline!

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 13 points 4 days ago

It's like how Stamets remembers what changed around him.

The modern internet is completely unusable without one!

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 7 points 4 days ago

It's complicated. The old bus punk was from a 2024 where the timeline was going to be changed so there would be an extremely evil (like, more evil than the Mirror Universe) Confederation of Planets rather than the Federation in the future. It's POSSIBLE that an evil Kirk and Co. went back to 1986 San Francisco in that timeline and Spock nerve pinched bus punk, but extremely unlikely given all the massive changes. Wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey.

The Star Trek IV punk is one of those jokes that’s so unfunny it causes an integer overflow and loops back around to absolutely hilarious.

[–] negativenull@piefed.world 14 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Someone else did NOT stick to their punk roots. Instead they went down the path of "Scooby Doo"

HACK THE PLANET! THEY ARE TRASHING OUR RIGHTS! TRASHING THEM!

[–] Snowcano@startrek.website 3 points 4 days ago

I thought our rights were in that place where I put that thing that time.

[–] alekwithak@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago

I mean that was the whole point of the movie, that he was never punk. The clothes, the attitude, the lifestyle, all that of a goddamn trendy-ass poser.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 days ago

Drugs will do that to you

[–] negativenull@piefed.world 14 points 4 days ago

Still living his best life. I respect that.

Star Trek: Whale Probe’d

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 8 points 4 days ago

I had to check, and wow, I’m surprised that was Kirk Thatcher.
