Actual criminal in New York: image

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 29 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

When will his tailor face charges?

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 21 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

for making him look like a centaur. its well known trump orders baggy suits to hide his obesity, and his girlde, and diaper he wears. plus his shoe lifts makes him look like a centaur.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

there's a billion things wrong with him, but I can't see what's wrong with his suit. help?

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I suppose I should have said his dry cleaner. That pant leg looks like he slept in it.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

...

you really went to "his trousers aren't ironed"? Out of the EVERYTHING?

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 10 points 3 weeks ago

Sorry, it was just bothering me in that pic.

I had a tan suit moment. Forgive me. (Though considering he’s so critical about suits when it comes to others…)

I have no doubt that Maduro is actually a criminal.

He just had no buisness being or New York, or being tried in any American court

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 19 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I don't know or care if he's a criminal. If he violated international law he should have been brought in to an international court at the ICC's request by an international coalition of forces, and if he violated Venezuelan law he should be arrested, tried, and sentenced in Venezuela by Venezuelans. Unless he violated USAmerican law, in USAmerica without immunity, and was arrested in the US he shouldn't be in US courts.

We are not the sovereigns of the whole planet. Other countries are other countries and we need to act like it.

I have no doubt that Maduro is actually a criminal.

Guy was illegally operating a Latin American democracy in defiance of decades of US coup attempts. He should be arrested, convicted, shot, buried, exhumed, convicted a second time, and launched into the sun. How fucking dare he.

Both are technically just suspects. Maduro may be a dictator, but his charges are pretty much made up. They should be difficult to prove in court, though I have no doubt in the prosecution's creativity and imagination.

If Eric Adams was still mayor, he'd be holding a ticker-tap parade for Maduro's arrest.

This has nothing to do with the person in custody and everything to do with the person in Gracie Mansion.

[–] Mac@mander.xyz 68 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Because only one of these men is a threat to them.

[–] Taldan@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

Boring, but accurate reason: Because the rest of Maduro's armed escort are waiting along the pier

By the end he had a similar escort to Luigi. Certainly it's a statement that an alleged international drug lord and terrorist is given the same level of escort as an alleged CEO murderer, but the picture is missing important context - a dozen armed agents waiting to escort him just out of frame

No one is mentioning it, so I will: Maduro's armed escort is just out of frame. There are about a dozen armed agents that escort him to the armed transport. This picture is missing important context in that regard

There is something to be said about the fact an alleged CEO killer is given the same level of armed escort as an alleged international drug kingpin and terrorist, but this picture does not accurately describe the situation

Side note but is Maduro goddamn huge?? Or are those agents chosen for their stature to make him seem bigger

[–] Nioxic@lemmy.dbzer0.com 31 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

He is around 190 cm

So tall but not “god damn huge”

[–] Anivia@feddit.org 43 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

So tall but not “god damn huge”

Maybe if he was European, but for South American standards that is pretty damn huge

[–] flightyhobler@lemmy.world 15 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah, guess who is never getting his picture taken next to Maduro.

I can't find any detailed data for Venezuela, but for Columbia that would literally be the 99.5th percentile of men

That's what she said

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 21 points 3 weeks ago

why does the larger one not simply eat the smaller ones?

[–] Brunbrun6766@lemmy.world 20 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That counts as a big dude to me. I'm 5' 11" and bigger than many of my coworkers.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Yeah, 5'11" (180 cm) is fairly tall for an American man despite what the internet would tell you. But at 6'3" (190 cm) a guy is in "do you play basketball?" and the world is too small territory

Every photo I'm seeing has him towering over everyone else, so I suspect he is in fact large.

[–] MummysLittleBloodSlut@lemmy.blahaj.zone 52 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Another Victim of Communism to add to the wall.

[–] Someonelol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 35 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

People cosplay as tough guys online all the time. Hardly anyone else has the balls to be like Luigi (allegedly).

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 15 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

But all the woke trans assassins committing the violence crimes. Need to deploy US military in the big democrat cities. (Whatever happened with that anyway? Did the cabal decide yeah that was too much of a bad idea, so let’s do Venezuela instead?)

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 12 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

The military basically just refused to turn on citizens. So they just showed up as ordered and cleaned trash and such

Not everyone has little enough to lose to go vigilante. Many of us have families to feed and can't afford to miss work over shooting a scumbag.

[–] lapping6596@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

Most people with a similar background to Luigi have too much to lose. He was educated, knew how to make a plan and follow through, learning what he didn't know ahead of time. He knew how to navigate our systems in a way most people without that background won't. And really, most people with those skills have too much to lose if they're caught. The system protects itself by having us all be dependent on it.

Eric Adams needed that ego boost at the time, lol. Pathetic.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 11 points 3 weeks ago

he needed a pardon from trump down the line.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.world 13 points 3 weeks ago

Makes me think that one of these is scripted. Planned out WAAAY ahead of time. Just going through the motions now.

[–] Nomad@infosec.pub 4 points 3 weeks ago

They are spectators themselves. Fans if you wish. They have seen a thousand dictators, but a Luigi is news to them.
