Canadians hatred of Trump is burning hot right now. We vividly remember all of the threats Trump made of invading Canada.

and here PP is celebrating Trump invading another country. This man couldn't be more tone-deaf if he tried.

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 67 points 1 week ago (4 children)

The contrast of Trump saying he wants to annex us repeatedly, will get Greenland, and that America wants Venezuela’s oil, then fucking taking over their government “indefinitely” and stating the US will now own and sell their oil is fucking terrifying.

This needs to be the moment our government looks over and starts taking this seriously. And not “we’ll start building an in 10 years” kinda seriously, taking action today.

We need to prepare for war NOW

"All Hail The Pedophile Rapist Despot!"

-- PP

[–] CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org 33 points 1 week ago

Finally, he has an excuse to say it.

I'm guessing it's still a misstep when it comes to winning an election in the future; the story isn't over yet.

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.ca 80 points 1 week ago

What a fucking embarrassment.

[–] grte@lemmy.ca 73 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What an incredibly stupid message when a lot of Canadians have to be thinking, "Are we next?"

To be fair, a Trump regime change is his best chance at actually ever becoming PM.

Many of his loyal base would welcome an American invasion at this point.

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 71 points 1 week ago (2 children)

This guy has no fucking clue

This is going to fucking wreck Canada’s oil economy, and his buddies are going to be shitting their pants right now because Trump is saying the US is going to just sell Venezuela’s oil to everyone.

Fuck you Pollievre, you fucking moron.

[–] Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works 41 points 1 week ago (1 children)

If the US actually succeeds (huge if, they control exactly 0.00% of Venezuela right now), this is will crash the Albertan economy into the earth's core. And Albertans will, somehow, blame the Liberals.

[–] Kichae@lemmy.ca 23 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

No wonder PP's celebrating, then. The CPC hasn't considered anything outside of Alberta and Saskatchewan to be "Canada" since they molted their Reform Party carapace.

[–] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 31 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Yup. The US needs heavy crude, that comes from Canada or Venezuela. Guess the US won’t need Canadian oil anymore.

[–] HellsBelle@sh.itjust.works 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It wouldn't surprise me if he used the new-found Venezuelan oil to try and shut Canada down.

2026 is looking to be a nasty fucking year.

[–] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Luckily, Alberta is only 15% of our GDP.

[–] HellsBelle@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Yeah. :/

I just posted an article from Barron's that says that's pretty much what will happen.

I wonder if he even considered a more carefully worded message that didn't condone open violations of international law. Surely there was a way to say this that was less ball-suckingly sycophantic and maybe even, god forbid, a little bit respectful of the people in Canada who are able to see the danger that Trump poses.

[–] shittydwarf@piefed.social 42 points 1 week ago

Shut the fuck up pp you little fascist bitch

Fuck that little fascist.

[–] Glide@lemmy.ca 40 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Jesus fucking christ. If you ever need evidence to explain why Poilievre lost the election to one of the weakest Liberal runs Canada has seen in modern history, here it is. Tone deaf isn't enough to describe it. Clueless feels too weak. He's completely disassociated from the Canadian perspective.

As an extension of the GOP, the CPC generally mirrors GOP propaganda in most things.

It's not a coincidence, PP isn't just acting like Trump, he answers to him.

[–] avidamoeba@lemmy.ca 35 points 1 week ago

Working hard to win that leadership election. I hope it backfires.

[–] jaselle@lemmy.ca 35 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Down with socialism??? Wtf is the problem with socialism

[–] avidamoeba@lemmy.ca 22 points 1 week ago

A century of red scare propaganda.

[–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Conservatives are afraid of socialism because they lack critical thinking skills and believe it when people say the nazis were genuine socialists. Socialism = nazis for many conservatives. Racism, genocide, and state sanctioned violence is not nazi like behavior in the eyes of many conservatives.

[–] dom@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 week ago

Tldr: conservatives are fucking dumb.

[–] JustADrone@lemmy.ca 32 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Hey siri, define “quisling”

[–] snoons@lemmy.ca 35 points 1 week ago

quisling /kwĭz′lĭng/
noun

  1. A traitor who serves as the puppet of the enemy occupying his or her country.
  2. A traitor who collaborates with the enemy.
  3. Someone who collaborates with an enemy occupying force.
[–] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 16 points 1 week ago

That's the Norwegian word for "Poilievre".

[–] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago (2 children)

He doesn't know what socialism is.

[–] FreeBooteR69@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He knows his brain dead audience though. They hate socialism, communism, liberals, and it doesn't matter that they don't know what any of those words mean.

[–] TemplaerDude@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 week ago

No, I’m confident in saying that Pierre doesn’t either. The people who write his tweets and speeches might, but Pierre is a fucking idiot.

Fuck off lil PP.

With all the damage Cons are doing, I wonder when people will wake up to the fact that this "socialism" the Cons keep attacking is actually the good guys.

[–] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 17 points 1 week ago

Always has been.

[–] AzuranAurora@piefed.ca 28 points 1 week ago

Fuck off from our country and never come back, you fascist piece of shit.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 28 points 1 week ago

And this guy was almost elected prime minister

[–] Thedogdrinkscoffee@lemmy.ca 28 points 1 week ago

Fascist Pig.

[–] Warehouse@piefed.ca 27 points 1 week ago

"Well, someone needs to run Vichy Canada!"
-Pierre, probably.

[–] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 25 points 1 week ago

What a piece of shit.

[–] HellsBelle@sh.itjust.works 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Down with socialism

I take it PP's forgotten he was born under our social democracy.

He’s in the running for “Biggest Turd Canada has ever produced.”

[–] BCsven@lemmy.ca 22 points 1 week ago

He is such a loser loudmouth

[–] snoons@lemmy.ca 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

How shiny can you make a boots by licking them? PP is finding out!

[–] Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 week ago

He's aiming a little higher, I think.

[–] pivot_root@lemmy.world 20 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Looking on from the outside, Canadian citizens may be screwed either way the wind blows. Saying something as tone-deaf as this is going to convince people to keep strategically voting against him, so either he wins and sells out the country, or he loses and yall end up in the same two-party system that is easily captured by corporations and billionaires.

[–] Medic8teMe@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 week ago

It's already captured.

[–] Sunshine@lemmy.ca 19 points 1 week ago

Imperialist bootlicker.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 15 points 1 week ago

Fascists of the world unite!

No, really, fascists worldwide are uniting.

[–] cyberpunk007@lemmy.ca 14 points 1 week ago

Ok if I didn't like him already, this is really the final nail in the coffin.

[–] RaskolnikovsAxe@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 week ago

Christ Almighty this guy can't do anything without trying to hurt other people, divide the country, or advocate for its destruction.

His whole life has been government funded. Hey Pierre, not everyone gets multiple hundreds of thousands a year in a golden pension, most of us rely on CPP as an important component of retirement. Socialized medicine and other programs make our country strong.

Fuck PP right in his PP
