London, Ont., police officers participating in a competition in Dubai alongside a Chechen group accused of committing atrocities in the conflict with Ukraine "damages the image of Canada," says a University of Toronto professor with expertise in international relations and political science. ... Participants also included the Akhmat unit from the Russian republic of Chechnya, a group that's been accused of committing atrocities in the conflict with Ukraine. The unit's victory in an event on the fourth day was celebrated in a ceremony attended by Adam Kadyrov, son of Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov, according to a news release.

We're sending our cops overseas to train with literal war criminals and self-proclaimed fascists. New low!

London will begin a Green Bin program the week of January 15, 2024.

A Green Bin is like a blue (recycling) bin, but for food waste such as fruit and vegetable skins, meat and chicken, spoiled leftovers, and other inedible food waste like bones. The Green Bin would be collected from your home at the curbside much like your Blue Box is.

(The green bins were delivered in my area (Hyde Park) this week.)

More info.

People act like Riverside is this super dangerous street because there's always accidents/fatalities on it. What people don't really appreciate is how many drivers on London roads are drunk at any given time. Also, Riverside is basically one long straight race track with one 90 degree turn. Drunks love driving on Riverside.

Truth is, you could add traffic calming measures, but the city does sometimes just randomly remove its own infrastructure because we love wasting money.
